On August 11, Van Ho District People's Court coordinated with the District People's Procuracy, the District Justice Department, Van Ho District Youth Union and Long Luong Commune People's Committee to organize a mock trial to propagate the prevention of child marriage and child sexual abuse for secretaries, village chiefs, and women's associations in villages in Long Luong commune.
The dramatized trial reenacted the case of “organizing illegal early marriages” and “sexual abuse of children under 16 years old”. The content of the case in the mock trial was built based on the documents of the actual case that took place. The characters in the mock trial, from the Chief Judge, People's Jury, representative of the Procuracy, Court Secretary, representative of the commune government, lawyer, to the victim and defendant, were played by members of the Court, the Procuracy and representatives of the District Youth Union.
With easy-to-understand, realistic content as well as the questioning, debate and deliberation of the parties in the trial, it helped participants improve their understanding of legal regulations, consequences and implications of early marriage and child sexual abuse.
In addition, the units also organize legal education and propaganda on preventing and combating child marriage, contributing to raising awareness of the law and the consequences of child marriage.
