On October 4, the Inter-Ministerial Working Group led by Mr. Le Hoang Trung, Deputy Director of the Department of Urban Development, Ministry of Construction, came to survey and evaluate the criteria for a type IV urban area and the level of infrastructure expected to establish wards in Moc Chau town.
Receiving and working with the delegation, Son La province had comrade Le Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of Moc Chau district.
Up to now, Moc Chau District People's Committee has organized the development and submission for approval of plans, programs and projects, including: Moc Chau urban master plan to 2040; Moc Chau urban development program to 2030; Project to propose recognition of Moc Chau urban area, meeting the criteria of a type IV urban area (covering the entire administrative boundary of Moc Chau district). Compared with the criteria of a type IV urban area according to regulations, Moc Chau urban area has achieved 88.96/100 points, meeting 5/5 criteria and 61/63 standards, with 2 standards not yet met.
The project to establish Moc Chau town is based on the entire 1,072 km2 of natural land and the current population of 148,259 people of Moc Chau district. The boundaries of 15 communes and towns are adjusted to establish 8 wards and 7 communes of Moc Chau town. The current assessment of the area planned to establish 8 wards all meet 10/13 standards or more.
At the survey, members of the working delegation highly appreciated the results and efforts of Moc Chau district in building and implementing urban development criteria. Especially focusing on preserving traditional cultural identity; community cultural living space; focusing resources on building traffic, service and tourism infrastructure. At the same time, the district was requested to clarify the typical criteria of urban tourism, ecology and border; clarify the boundaries of wards; urban embellishment, selection of urban trees suitable for the streets; illustrative films when introducing the district as a whole need to highlight the potential, strengths and development of Moc Chau...
Speaking at the conclusion of the survey, comrade Le Hoang Trung requested the People's Committee of Moc Chau district to study and fully absorb the opinions of the members of the working group, focus on completing the dossier to soon be appraised and considered for recognition as a type IV urban area, as a premise to build Moc Chau district into a town.
