Amidst the waves, military doctors on Truong Sa archipelago are not only "doctors" who are dedicated to taking care of the health of officers, soldiers and people on the island, but also a strong spiritual support for fishermen who go out to sea, stick to the sea, and contribute to protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. Living in Song Tu Tay commune, Truong Sa district, Khanh Hoa province, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lo's family, like many other people here, feel secure whenever they need a health check-up, because the infirmary on the island has highly skilled doctors who are always responsible and dedicated to the patients. The doctors are also the ones who advise and guide people on disease prevention measures and health protection in the vast ocean.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lo, Song Tu Tay commune, Truong Sa district, Khanh Hoa province: “My family has small children so we often go to the clinic to see a doctor. The doctors here are very attentive and caring to the children, and the children also like them very much. Here, medicines and functional foods, especially calcium supplements, are provided free of charge.”
Song Tu Tay Island Infirmary is fully equipped with medical equipment to ensure good medical examination, treatment, and health care for officers, soldiers, and people on the island as well as fishermen who are going out to sea day and night. From the beginning of 2024 to now, the infirmary has examined and dispensed medicine to nearly 800 officers, soldiers, and fishermen; provided emergency care and treatment for 45 cases, of which, in conjunction with Hospital 175, 2 cases were transferred by helicopter for timely treatment on the mainland.
Major Nguyen Thanh Huy, Doctor of Song Tu Tay Island Infirmary, Truong Sa District: "Although the facilities here are not as good as those onshore, with the efforts of the army and people, along with the medical team here, we are always ready in spirit, expertise and responsibility to ensure the best service for the soldiers and people, as well as fishermen going out to sea to complete their political and professional tasks."
Lieutenant Colonel Vu Manh Hai, Commander of Song Tu Tay Island, Brigade 146, Naval Region 4: “With the great attention of the Party and the State, we have invested in equipment, machinery, vehicles and medicine to ensure. And even more special is the attention of Hospital 108, which annually rotates military medical teams to regularly work on the island to improve their qualifications. In addition to the qualifications of officers and soldiers directly performing tasks at the infirmary, Hospital 108 and Hospital 175 also broadcast online to handle serious emergency cases and complicated cases.”
On the Truong Sa archipelago in the middle of the vast ocean, where human love is close, military doctors wholeheartedly take care of the health of officers, soldiers and people, deserving the noble title "Doctors are like mothers", contributing to protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland./.
