Previously, on the afternoon of September 6, at the Special Session, the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province, term XIV, term 2021 - 2026, carried out the process of electing Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the term 2021-2026 for Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee for the term 2020-2025.
With 98.43% of the votes in agreement, Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung was elected by the 14th Provincial People's Council as Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province for the 2021-2026 term.
Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, born in 1983, is from Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi. He has a Master's degree in information technology and graduated from Singapore University; senior political theory. He has held many positions: Deputy Director, Director of Information Security Department; Director of Information Technology Department.
From 2020 to 2024, Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung held the position of Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union, Vice President of the National Cyber Security Association.
On August 27, 2024, the Central Party Secretariat appointed Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, as Deputy Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
* Also on September 14, 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 981/QD-TTg approving the results of the dismissal of Mr. Trinh Viet Hung from the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province for the 2021-2026 term, to take on a new assignment.
