On September 21, My Thuan Project Management Board organized the signing of a peak emulation agreement "100 days and nights of construction to complete the work of treating weak soil, loading the roadbed, basically completing the bridges, disbursing 100% of the allocated capital for the North-South expressway construction project in the East phase 2021-2025, Can Tho - Ca Mau section".

Urgently increase sand mine capacity
Appreciating the efforts of the units that have overcome difficulties to achieve outstanding results in project implementation, former Deputy Minister Le Dinh Tho also pointed out: Besides the bright spots, the project still has some shortcomings, especially the unscientific and ineffective organization of construction...
To speed up the project's progress, he requested the My Thuan Project Management Board to direct units to focus on resolving and completing disbursement procedures; rectify and reorganize construction work, and overcome arising problems and obstacles during the construction of public roads.
To date, localities have granted the project 21 river sand mines with reserves of more than 18 million.
At the same time, the My Thuan Project Management Board coordinates with contractors and localities to increase the maximum exploitation capacity of the sand mine at all costs, and bring sand to the construction site as soon as possible to ensure the progress of the project. This must be given top priority by the units.
According to the report of My Thuan Project Management Board, the total construction output of the project has reached 42% of the plan. Regarding the material situation, to date, localities have provided the project with 21 river sand mines, with a total reserve of more than 18 million m3, contractors have exploited and brought to the construction site more than 8 million m3. Of sea sand alone, 172,000 m3 have been brought to the construction site.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Thi, Director of My Thuan Project Management Board, emphasized that the completion of weak soil treatment and loading work is a prerequisite for completing the project by the end of 2025.
The amount of work to be done in 100 days and nights was huge, with many complex difficulties such as weather and unstable sand sources, to achieve the promised success.
Mr. Tran Van Thi, Director of My Thuan Project Management Board, requested that units not only shout but also do what they say.
Affirming the importance of the project, Mr. Thi requested that contractors need to have specific actions and solutions to implement it, not just shout and talk without doing, or doing things that do not meet requirements.
To ensure the progress of the project, the Director of My Thuan Project Management Board requested that the consulting unit and construction contractor must properly fulfill their responsibilities and obligations in the signed contract and commit to compete.
Contractors must join in, join forces, be united, overcome construction difficulties to ensure progress and quality requirements of the project.

"Regarding the progress and specific targets for both Can Tho - Hau Giang and Hau Giang - Ca Mau packages, from now until December 31, 2024, we strive to complete all loading work and basically complete the bridge section.
"Proactively mobilize all financial resources, vehicles, equipment and human resources to take advantage of favorable weather conditions. Strive to test asphalt concrete on a section of the Can Tho - Hau Giang project. Complete the targets signed in the emulation agreement at this launching ceremony," said Major General Ngoc.
Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway is over 110km long, with a total investment of over VND 27,500 billion, started construction in January 2023, and is expected to be completed in 2025.
This expressway section consists of two component projects: the Can Tho - Hau Giang component project is over 37km long. The total investment is over 10,370 billion VND.
The Hau Giang - Ca Mau component project is over 73km long. The total investment is over 17,152 billion VND.
