Petrovietnam wishes to cooperate with Poland in shipbuilding and port services

On the afternoon of January 17, in Warsaw, Poland, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinated with the Polish Ministry of Economic Development and Technology to organize the Vietnam - Poland Business Forum. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a speech at the forum.

The Vietnam - Poland Business Forum is one of the important events within the framework of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Poland.

Attending the Forum and giving a speech on cooperation activities between Vietnam and Poland in a number of fields, Mr. Do Chi Thanh - Deputy General Director of Petrovietnam affirmed: The Vietnam Business Forum is an opportunity for Petrovietnam to meet, exchange experiences as well as seek investment cooperation opportunities with Polish business partners.

According to Mr. Do Chi Thanh, Petrovietnam is one of the state-owned enterprises, with the task of managing and implementing oil and gas activities in Vietnam and investing abroad. After six decades of formation and development, Petrovietnam has become a state-owned economic group, playing a pivotal role in the economy, contributing to ensuring national energy security with equity capital as of December 31, 2024 of 14.7 billion USD and charter capital as of December 31, 2024 of 10.9 billion USD. Currently, Petrovietnam continues to play an important role in contributing to Vietnam's budget.

In its activities, Petrovietnam focuses on five main areas: Oil and gas exploration and exploitation; gas industry; oil and gas processing; electricity and renewable energy industry; and high-quality oil and gas technical services.

Emphasizing the relationship between the two countries, Mr. Do Chi Thanh said that Vietnam and Poland have gone through a development process with important milestones in the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries over the past 75 years. Therefore, Petrovietnam is very impressed with the strong development of the shipbuilding and port services industry. Poland is a country that stands out with its achievements in advanced technology, modern production processes and a team of highly skilled engineers and workers.

With the desire to explore cooperation opportunities in this field, during the period from 2008 to 2009, Petrovietnam and the Petroleum Technical Services Corporation (PTSC), a member unit of Petrovietnam, together with Sinus Company and a number of Polish enterprises and universities, researched the possibility of cooperation in the field of personnel training, supplying machinery, equipment, and building multi-purpose oil and gas service ships AHTS....

One of the 5 core areas of Petrovietnam is high-quality oil and gas technical services. Therefore, Petrovietnam is very proud of its member units operating in this field, which are strong enterprises that have made significant contributions to the overall development of Petrovietnam.

Specifically, Mr. Thanh cited the Petroleum Technical Services Corporation (PTSC). This is the leading corporation in the field of providing petroleum and industrial technical services in Vietnam, and is a large and prestigious brand in the regional and international markets.

PTSC's main field of operation is to provide technical services for the oil and gas, energy and industrial sectors, including many strategic, high-quality, key services that have been developed and professionalized to international standards such as: EPCI for offshore structures; EPC for industrial structures; FSO/FPS0 floating storage, processing and export of crude oil; oil and gas service vessels; seismic, geological and underground construction surveys; installation, operation and maintenance of offshore structures; service ports, technical human resource supply services and services for renewable energy projects.

In addition, PTSC is currently managing and operating a system of port bases and services stretching from North to South with a total area of ​​over 320 hectares, including: PTSC Dinh Vu port, Nghi Son port, Hon La port, Son Tra port, Dung Quat port, Phu My port, Sao Mai-Ben Dinh, PVShipyard, PTSC oil and gas service port.

In order to adapt to the energy transition program from traditional hydrocarbons to renewable energy sources, PTSC is actively participating in the renewable energy sector, especially the offshore wind power sector, including the role of a service provider and an investor and project developer.

Another member unit of Petrovietnam operating in the field of shipbuilding is Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Company (DQS), a unit specializing in building and converting oil tankers, crane ships, drilling rigs, etc.

"Through the Vietnam - Poland Business Forum, Petrovietnam hopes to seek specific cooperation opportunities with Polish partners in areas such as: ship design, production of new materials, improvement of shipbuilding processes to increase productivity and product quality, training of human resources in the field of shipbuilding and port services" - Mr. Do Chi Thanh expected and said, Petrovietnam realized that cooperation is not only about exchanging products, but also an opportunity for both sides to learn and develop together.

Polish companies can provide Petrovietnam with advanced technological solutions, while Petrovietnam can share with you its experience and regulations from the Vietnamese market.

" And especially, in the context of the energy transition taking place strongly globally, this cooperation does not only stop at traditional shipbuilding projects but also expands to the fields of renewable energy and green energy to meet the needs of environmental protection and sustainable development in the energy industry, " Mr. Do Chi Thanh affirmed.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien and the delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade accompanied the Prime Minister and his wife on an official visit to Poland.

In addition to accompanying the Prime Minister to attend bilateral foreign affairs activities in Poland, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien and the Ministry of Industry and Trade delegation will also have bilateral meetings, work and contacts with partners.
