When put into operation, the factory will be PepsiCo Foods' production center in Vietnam, with an annual capacity of more than 20,000 tons of snacks, creating more than 1,000 direct and indirect jobs.

On August 3, PepsiCo Foods Vietnam Company Limited (PepsiCo Foods Vietnam) started construction of a modern food production factory in Ha Nam province.

The project has a total investment of 90 million USD, a total area of 8 hectares, applying leading advanced technologies, strongly implementing PepsiCo's sustainable development strategy.

Specifically, the factory uses renewable energy, including a roof equipped with solar panels and a biomass system that utilizes local agricultural waste to generate electricity. This renewable energy source is expected to ensure sufficient production for the factory. Thanks to that, PepsiCo Foods significantly reduces carbon emissions, minimizing the impact on the environment.

The project is built on a total area of 8 hectares in Dong Van I Industrial Park (Ha Nam province), with a total investment of 90 million USD.

Responding to Dau Tu Electronic Newspaper at the press briefing after the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Ha, General Director of PepsiCo Foods Vietnam, said that the factory is expected to be completed in June 2025 and operational from July 2025. This factory will be PepsiCo Foods' production center in Vietnam, with an annual capacity of more than 20,000 tons of snacks.

The factory is also expected to create a strong driving force for local socio-economic development, through creating many job opportunities in the fields of production, logistics, packaging and agriculture..., up to more than 1,000 direct and indirect jobs.

According to Mr. Ha, PepsiCo has prepared raw material areas to supply for the factory's production activities through cooperation with farmers in some localities such as Ha Nam, Hai Duong, Thanh Hoa... Input materials will be purchased by the company at a fixed price.

In addition, PepsiCo Foods also has a team of agronomists to support farmers in applying sustainable agricultural practices, implementing the global PepsiCo Positive (pep+) strategy, aiming to achieve 100% sustainable supply and promote regenerative agriculture by 2030.

At the same time, the company will coordinate with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Ha Nam to implement the program "Improving skills and labor quality of Ha Nam youth" sponsored by the PepsiCo Foundation, aiming to equip local youth with essential soft skills such as communication, teamwork, problem solving and digital skills, meeting the requirements of the modern industrial working environment.

PepsiCo Foods Vietnam is also collaborating with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, local agricultural cooperatives, and farmers to practice regenerative agriculture, improve soil quality, reduce carbon emissions, and optimize crop yields. This initiative affirms PepsiCo Foods’ role in building sustainable agriculture, contributing to improving the lives of farmers in Ha Nam and other northern provinces.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Marc Knapper, US Ambassador to Vietnam, affirmed that this is an important event, demonstrating the commitment of PepsiCo Foods and US companies in Vietnam to the development of sustainable agriculture, improving labor capacity for people, especially Vietnamese farmers.

Mr. Truong Quoc Huy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Nam province, said that the groundbreaking ceremony of PepsiCo Foods Vietnam's new factory in Ha Nam will contribute to helping the province realize its goal of becoming a modern industrial province by 2025. At the same time, the province also wants to take advantage of favorable climate and land conditions to grow clean agricultural crops, develop high-tech agriculture and bring about great economic efficiency.

“We are ready to support businesses to facilitate factory construction, industrial and agricultural economic development and support services, bringing benefits to businesses, Ha Nam province and Vietnam,” said Mr. Truong Quoc Huy.
