After signing an agreement to establish two AI centers in Vietnam, Nvidia has acquired VinBrain from VinGroup. Sharing on the evening of December 5, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said: "We are very fortunate to have the cooperation of VinGroup, and VinBrain, an excellent and extraordinary AI startup in Vietnam. With VinBrain, we now have a starting point for a large future design center." Immediately after this announcement, on the morning of December 6, VinBrain's website also updated its interface with a notice that it had become part of Nvidia, acquired by Nvidia in December 2024 and was no longer an independent entity.

VinBrain is a pioneer in developing artificial intelligence products in the healthcare sector. The company has deployed these solutions in more than 182 hospitals in Vietnam, the US, India, Australia, etc., helping healthcare professionals improve their work efficiency.

Vingroup's financial report shows that as of the end of June, VinGroup owns 49.74% of VinBrain's shares. The group has also invested VND126.6 billion in VinBrain as of December 2023.

Sharing after the announcement of the acquisition of VinBrain, Nvidia's Chairman said that to promote AI in Vietnam, there are 3 things to do. First is to build infrastructure for AI. Next is to nurture and develop a team of AI experts. Third is to support Vietnamese AI startups.

Previously, on the evening of December 5, the National Innovation Center (NIC, Ministry of Planning and Investment) announced the cooperation between Vietnam and Nvidia on the establishment of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research and Development Center, called VRDC (Vietnam Research and Development Center), along with the AI ​​Data Center in Vietnam.
