Female student from 'village school' passed English, math and IT exams of 3 major specialized schools

(Dan Tri) - Nguyen Mai Lan Nhi passed all three specialized schools of the university in three different specialized subjects including math, IT, and English.
Nguyen Mai Lan Nhi is a former student of class 9A2 Linh Dam Secondary School - a school separated from Hoang Liet School, enrolling the first class of the 2022-2023 school year, located in Hoang Mai district, Hanoi. In the recent entrance exam for specialized 10th graders, Lan Nhi passed the specialized math exam of the National University of Education High School, the specialized IT exam of the Natural Science High School and the specialized English exam of the Foreign Language High School. These are the top 3 specialized schools in the country in terms of training quality and fierce competition for admission. Currently, Lan Nhi is waiting for the specialized math exam results of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.

Ms. Pham Dam Tuyet Hoa - Principal of Linh Dam Secondary School - said that Lan Nhi is a diligent, studious and especially modest student. "Lan Nhi loves many fields, so she has tried her hand at different specialized subjects and achieved her wishes. During her studies at school, she has constantly tried her best and is always determined to conquer her goals. Lan Nhi's academic results are often ranked first in the school. In 2023-2024, she achieved an average score of 9.8," Ms. Hoa shared. Before achieving the achievement of being admitted to 3 specialized schools in 3 different specialized subjects, Lan Nhi won many awards in math and English. She also brought home the third prize for excellent math students at the city level last school year. Not only excellent in studying, Lan Nhi is also a strong chess player with the first prize in chess at the Phu Dong Sports Festival at the district level.

Ms. Mai Thi Hoa, Lan Nhi's mother, said: "Her achievements are thanks to the tutoring of teachers and her own self-study awareness." Ms. Hoa is a biology teacher. However, she said she could not tutor her daughter. When her daughter was young, she sat next to her to work and checked her homework when necessary. As she grew older, she let her take the initiative. Lan Nhi was modest and hardworking. There was a time when she was so absorbed in studying that Ms. Hoa had to remind her to go to bed early. Although Lan Nhi studied well since childhood, Ms. Hoa did not direct her daughter to a high-quality secondary school. Instead, she sent her to study near home. "Although it is a new school, Linh Dam Secondary School inherits the tradition and achievements of the former Hoang Liet Secondary School. Lan Nhi mainly studies with teachers at the school. Her homeroom teacher Pham Thi Kieu Dung instilled in her a passion for math and motivation to study, so she studies very proactively and enthusiastically. Because she focuses on math, she does not have much time for English. She mainly studies in class, combining it with self-reviewing of additional materials," Ms. Hoa confided. Ms. Pham Dam Tuyet Hoa added that although it is not a high-quality school in the district, training key students is still one of the educational goals of Linh Dam Secondary School. "At the end of the school year, homeroom teachers coordinate with subject teachers to advise and guide students with the best ability to develop their abilities. On that basis, in the new school year, the school develops a plan to train excellent students in each subject. At Linh Dam School, teachers assigned to train excellent students are extremely dedicated. They do not hesitate to face difficulties, always seek, learn to improve their expertise and devote all their efforts to supporting their students," Ms. Hoa shared. In addition to Nguyen Mai Lan Nhi, Linh Dam Secondary School also has 2 other students who passed the specialized exam. Tran Ha Ngoc Mai passed the specialized exam in Physics and Natural Sciences, Nguyen Ngoc Tuan Minh passed the specialized exam in English at the two specialized schools of Pedagogy and Foreign Languages.
