After 20 years of working at Quynh Luu District General Hospital (Nghe An), Ms. Tran Thi Tho, Head of Nursing - Social Work Department, has always been loved and appreciated by staff, employees as well as patients who have been and are being treated at the hospital.
Ms. Tho is known as a nurse who is always friendly, close, and caring towards patients, especially those in difficult circumstances.

In 2004, after graduating with a degree in nursing, Ms. Tho was accepted to work at Quynh Luu District General Hospital.
In addition to completing her assigned tasks well, she always takes time to visit and care for patients being treated at the hospital. She patiently listens to patients' feelings during their hospitalization, especially about the service attitude of the medical staff in the hospital.
Ms. Tho is also a pioneer in volunteer programs and activities such as consulting and establishing a fund to visit poor patients. This fund has been contributed by hospital staff over many years, to visit and encourage patients with difficult circumstances who are being treated at the hospital.
For the past 7 years, Ms. Tho has regularly organized free haircuts and shampoos for patients by calling hair salons in the district to come and cut hair for patients. Female staff in the hospital also participate in shampooing and drying hair for patients.
In addition, Ms. Tho also coordinated with the District Women's Union, the Quynh Luu District Red Cross, the pagoda, and the hospital's Nursing Association to cook charity porridge for patients; and organized buffet meals for patients.
At the same time, preside over the program "connecting love", calling on units, organizations, and philanthropists to give gifts to patients in difficult circumstances who have been and are being treated at the hospital; organize "living blood bank" activities, calling for emergency blood donations for patients in urgent need of blood at the hospital...

"After 20 years of working as a nurse, perhaps the greatest reward in my life is the trust and respect of my colleagues, patients, and their families. I really appreciate it and will try harder.
With volunteer activities, I believe that as long as I am healthy and can help someone within my ability, that is a happiness...", Ms. Tho confided.
Ms. Tho's work has always been recognized and highly appreciated by the leaders. In 2023, she was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Minister of Health for her outstanding achievements in implementing social work activities in the health sector; and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the title of "good example of medical ethics" for the period 2018-2019...

Mr. Le Van Hoan, Deputy Director of Quynh Luu District General Hospital, highly appreciated Ms. Tho's capacity and responsibility throughout her work. Ms. Tho is an energetic, highly professional person and has made many contributions to the development of the hospital. She is considered a friendly, approachable person who cares about patients.
"During her work, nurse Tho regularly consults and organizes meaningful volunteer programs and activities for patients in difficult circumstances. These activities not only encourage patients mentally and materially but also spread good things to colleagues and the community," Mr. Hoan shared.
