Love at the 'stops'

Thach Ngoc Hai, a third-year student at the Faculty of Culture, Tourism and Social Work, Dong Thap University, is "burning" himself out with social work activities. The most prominent is "Project for Children" which is divided into many different "stops". Born into a family without enough love from his parents, Ngoc Hai soon trained himself to be independent, studying and working part-time to pay for his studies. However, this student always balances well between studying and community activities.

Having studied social work, deeply sympathizing with the deprivation of students in remote areas. After a long time of nurturing, on June 1, 2023, Ngoc Hai founded "Project for Children". This is a social activity to connect the hearts of union members, students, and philanthropists near and far to join hands to organize children's playgrounds and give gifts to children in difficult circumstances, orphans, and disabled children.

Ngoc Hai said: “The project for me is implemented according to the 'station' model, each 'station' will organize activities suitable to the reality of each locality. Every month, we will plan, survey, mobilize and implement from 2 to 4 'stations' in the southwestern border area, remote areas in Dong Thap and neighboring provinces".

After more than a year of implementation, with guidance from the Faculty, Ngoc Hai and members of the Project have organized 32 "stations" for more than 2,000 students, with a total value of more than 900 million VND.

Devoting himself to social work, yet with excellent academic and training scores, Ngoc Hai was honored to receive the Nguyen Thi Oanh scholarship, for excellent students in the field of social work. Hai has shown that, regardless of the circumstances, if we have the will and heart to contribute to the community, we can create positive values for society.
