According to VietNamNet reporters, currently some roads in Bac Kan province are still affected by landslides and have not been repaired.

Specifically, on National Highway 3B from Bac Kan City to Cho Don District, there are many landslides, even some sections where rocks and soil cover half of the road, affecting traffic.

Having to regularly travel this route, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang in Bac Kan City said: "Many sections of the road have landslides that cover half the road surface, making it very dangerous for people to travel, especially at night."

Mr. Tran Tuan Anh in Quang Thuan commune, Bach Thong district, Bac Kan province reported that the landslides were mainly caused by storm No. 3, but have not been repaired yet.

"In addition to the rocks and soil falling onto the road affecting traffic, in our commune, there are also a number of houses damaged by rocks and soil from landslides. We hope the government will soon fix this situation so that people can travel conveniently," said Mr. Tuan Anh.

Recently, the Department of Transport of Bac Kan province sent an official dispatch to the Provincial People's Committee and the Vietnam Road Administration stating that since the beginning of the year, Bac Kan province has experienced many periods of rain and floods, especially storm No. 3 (Yagi), causing traffic jams and damage to road infrastructure.

To respond to and overcome damage to road infrastructure in the province, the Ministry of Transport has declared a natural disaster emergency for the National Highway 3B, National Highway 3C and National Highway 279 systems in Bac Kan province.

Many sections of dirt and rocks cover almost the entire road surface.

The Department of Transport of Bac Kan province said that due to the terrain of the area on national highways and provincial roads, one side is a high slope, the other side is abyss with people's cultivated land, river channels, streams... so finding and determining landslide dumping locations that meet environmental criteria, land use planning, safety level without affecting cultivated land... is extremely difficult and complicated.

On November 15, the People's Committee of Bac Kan province issued an official dispatch assigning the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to review the report content of the Department of Transport; proactively guide the unit in the implementation process, advise and propose to the Provincial People's Committee the contents within its responsibility and authority.
