Create a practical and useful playground for children during the summer
After a stressful school year, summer vacation is a time that every child eagerly awaits. Parents also want their children to relax, “unwind” after a year of studying and to attend life skills classes, having the most meaningful experiences.
In order for children to have a meaningful summer, the Summer Activities and Volunteer Summer Steering Committee from the province to the grassroots level proactively develops plans to organize activities, creating healthy, practical and useful playgrounds for teenagers and children in the area.
At the same time, promote propaganda and education on building moral awareness, law compliance; propaganda on preventing and combating abuse, accidents, injuries, and drowning for children. In addition, increase classes to equip children with necessary skills to help them take care of and protect themselves, such as: "Learning to be a useful person", "Military semester", "I am a police officer", "Journey of experience" ...
At the same time, mobilize social resources to organize activities to better care for the material and spiritual lives of disabled children, children in especially difficult circumstances, children in ethnic minority areas, remote areas, etc.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu (living in Chau Phu A ward, Chau Doc city ) shared: “To avoid repeating last year's summer vacation, in addition to extra classes, my two children stayed at home all day watching phones and playing games. This summer, I registered my children for martial arts and swimming classes to practice more life skills. I also did not force my children to study more subjects, but basically studied and played at the same time to avoid creating pressure, helping them relax during the summer.”
To meet the children's entertainment needs during the summer, right from the beginning of summer, the Children's House, the Labor Culture House of An Giang province and localities in the province have opened many talent classes, experiential courses, life skills training and organized many competitions and performances attracting a large number of young people to participate, such as: Martial arts, football, badminton, swimming, aerobics, painting, dancing, playing instruments, practicing beautiful handwriting...
In addition to regular activities, the Provincial Labor Culture House has organized "Children's Summer Fun" activities for nearly 140 children who are members of affiliated grassroots unions, group games such as: Passing messages, building paper towers, carrying balls through water pipes, building bridges, friendly trains, showing off coloring skills, etc. Thereby, creating a practical and useful playground for children of workers, civil servants, and laborers during the summer.
Mr. Le Van Thanh (residing in Dong Xuyen ward, Long Xuyen city) said: "Healthy and practical recreational activities like this will help children improve their health, learn knowledge and skills beyond books, improve their personality, and develop comprehensively."
As the core force, volunteer activities for community life, youth unions and youth councils at all levels in the province have organized recreational activities, life skills training, culture - arts, physical education - sports for teenagers and children in residential areas.
Responding to the Peak Day "For beloved juniors", Youth Union organizations and Young Pioneer Councils in the province simultaneously organized many exciting and meaningful activities, such as: Visiting and giving gifts to children in difficult circumstances; propagating policies and laws related to children; organizing life skills classes and skills to prevent and combat injuries and drowning accidents for children...
Secretary of Vinh Nhuan Commune Youth Union (Chau Thanh District) Tran Kim Cuong shared: “This summer, the Commune Youth Union coordinates with departments, branches, and organizations to propagate prevention of injuries and drowning accidents; organize summer playgrounds, and provide free haircuts for children. At the same time, support schools to upgrade schoolyards, repair playgrounds, build green libraries; give gifts to children in difficult circumstances…”.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Summer Activities Steering Committee of An Giang Province, Le Van Phuoc, proposed: Summer Activities Steering Committees at all levels proactively coordinate with all levels and sectors in the province to implement practical programs and activities suitable to the reality of localities and units.
In particular, it is necessary to focus on synchronously implementing management and education activities for youth and children during the summer; preventing violence and abuse; preventing accidents, injuries, and drowning; organizing recreational activities, creating equal development opportunities for children. Summer activities must be diverse, rich, and creative with many good models and new ways to attract youth, children, and students to participate. In particular, the organization of activities must pay attention to children in difficult circumstances, disadvantaged children, children with disabilities, children infected with HIV/AIDS, remote areas, ethnic minority areas, etc.
