The highlight of the "Welcome New Year 2025" Program is the Highland Market space - Welcome New Year 2025, recreating the cultural space with the colors of the highland ethnic groups. In the market space, there is also a painting exhibition "Colors of the Market" introducing the photo space about the beauty of the land and people of the mountainous district of Thanh and some photos of the cultural space organized at the Cultural - Tourism Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups.
Coming to the program "Welcome New Year 2025" with tourists, you will also enjoy the sound of the panpipe of the Mong people introducing the national intangible cultural heritage through the art of performing special performances of single and double panpipe dances; introducing the structure of the panpipe and how to use it to the people and tourists; artisans help everyone learn about the panpipe, practice blowing the panpipe, dancing with the panpipe, immersing in the joyful atmosphere of the last days of the old year, welcoming the new year.
In addition, traditional handicrafts are one of the cultural beauties associated with the highland ethnic communities. Ethnic minorities together introduce those unique cultural features with the brocade colors of embroidery and fabric decoration of the Dao and Thai groups in Thanh Hoa province, weaving, scarf embroidery, and knitting of the ethnic minorities in the North who are active daily in the Village.
Folk songs and dances to celebrate the country, praise the homeland, the national identity of the region, welcome the spring of 2025, the Dao, Mong, Thai ethnic groups of Thanh Hoa province and the ethnic groups of the North are performing daily at the Village. Groups of ethnic groups meet, joyful in solidarity, shining in faith in the Party, Uncle Ho and the renewed homeland.
Also on this occasion, the Thai ethnic people will reenact the “New Rice Celebration” Ceremony - a traditional cultural feature with profound humanity that the Thai people value and preserve from generation to generation. This is an occasion for relatives and neighbors to meet, have fun, share work, build families and strengthen community solidarity. Because the rice fields often do not ripen at the same time, upland rice growers often choose different days to celebrate the New Rice Ceremony...
Meanwhile, the Lucky Fortune Festival of Thanh Hoa province’s ethnic minorities is often held at the beginning of the year to pray for good luck to dispel diseases and have good crops. To prepare the offering tray, the most important thing is the threads placed on the offering tray, the offerings include chicken, pork, water, sticky rice, fruits, etc. After the ceremony, the Shaman will give luck to each person by tying a thread around their wrist depending on their age and status so that he can tie a different colored thread. This is considered a lucky charm that the Shaman bestows.
Daily and weekend activities of 16 ethnic communities, experiential tourism programs, introduction to making and wrapping cakes for tourists, folk games; activities to pray for peace and blessings at spiritual spaces of Khmer pagodas, Cham towers... introducing the culture, customs and practices of the ethnic groups, along with experiential activities at the "Common House" of the community of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups./.
