The Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City has just reported on ensuring goods and stabilizing the market at the end of 2024 and the Lunar New Year 2025.

This year, the market stabilization program in Ho Chi Minh City has 69 participating supply chain units, an increase of 10 units compared to last year.

In particular, this year, for the first time, Ho Chi Minh City has implemented the Product Quality Control Cooperation Program, abbreviated as “Green Tick of Responsibility”. By participating in this program, suppliers voluntarily monitor quality, preventing defective products from reaching consumers.

In addition to ensuring supply of goods, controlling prices and quality, eight retail groups will lead this program, aiming to target production through market signals.

As part of a series of market stabilization activities, a mobile sales program with the theme "Connecting consumers - Spreading love" will be held in rotation in different locations, aiming to reduce the spending burden for workers and low-income laborers.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, this year's mobile sales program has the participation of many businesses in the supply chain from production, distribution to payment. Many preferential policies are applied, there will be more than 500 items discounted up to 80%.

Regarding the supply of goods, key enterprises participating in the price stabilization program committed to preparing capital of more than VND 22,000 billion. Of which, essential food items serving the 2025 Lunar New Year market are more than VND 8,000 billion.

In order to reduce the pressure of people shopping and stockpiling before Tet, almost all distribution systems have plans to operate continuously, only closing on the first day. Some convenience store systems are open throughout Tet.

The selling price of market stabilization products is always maintained at least 5% lower than the average selling price of products of the same type and quality on the market. The products in the program do not increase in price in the month before and after Tet.
