Yen Bai - On March 20, the delegation of former Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Sugi Ryotaro and his members visited and attended the launching ceremony of the Ba Khe Primary and Secondary School construction project in Cat Thinh commune, Van Chan district. This is one of the programs within the "School Reconstruction" project to support natural disaster areas in Vietnam of the Embassy of Japan.

During the working trip, former Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro and his delegation visited and encouraged teachers and students of Ba Khe Primary and Secondary School, learned about the school's current facilities; and presented meaningful gifts to the students with the hope of encouraging them to overcome difficulties, study hard and develop themselves.
At the same time, the school was given 5 billion VND to build classrooms and facilities, creating the best learning conditions for students. This is part of the delegation's activities to contribute to the development of education in Vietnam.

On behalf of the leaders of Yen Bai province, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu Thi Hien Hanh emphasized that with 38 years of dedication and important contributions to the Vietnam - Japan relationship, Mr. Sugi Ryotaro not only made outstanding contributions to promoting diplomatic relations between the two countries but also had positive influences in education, training and crime prevention.
The efforts of former Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro will continue to be a driving force for international cooperation activities, towards a sustainable development future for both countries.
For Yen Bai province, in recent years, the Japanese Embassy has had many programs to promote cooperation, support upgrading infrastructure, rural transportation, and schools. Currently, Yen Bai has had close cooperation with two Japanese cities, Mimasaka and Yamanashi. These are clear evidences of the increasingly strong Vietnam - Japan friendship.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: The project to build Ba Khe Primary and Secondary School is an important step, contributing to improving the quality of education, helping students in Cat Thinh commune have a spacious, modern learning environment with full conditions for development.
At the same time, it contributes to promoting the relationship between Vietnam and Japan in general and Yen Bai province with Japanese provinces and cities in particular. He also expressed his deep gratitude to Mr. Sugi Ryotaro personally and the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam. He hopes to continue to receive more attention so that the Vietnam - Japan cooperative relationship will become increasingly close and strong.
