On September 6, Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam announced the appointment of Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hanh as General Director and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking. The decision takes effect from October 1.
Notably, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hanh will be the first Vietnamese person to be appointed to the highest leadership position at Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam.
According to Standard Chartered Vietnam, this decision further strengthens the bank's commitment to promoting diversity and developing national talent.
With 30 years of experience in the industry, Ms. Thuy Hanh has a deep understanding of the domestic market and experience from international banking.
Since joining Standard Chartered in 1997, she has held many senior leadership positions, such as Head of Financial Institutions, in charge of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia markets, Head of Global Corporate and Financial Institutions, and Head of Commercial Enterprises.
Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hanh is the first Vietnamese to be the general director of Standard Chartered Vietnam.
Prior to her appointment, Ms. Hanh was Deputy CEO of Standard Chartered's corporate and investment banking division in Vietnam.
