From September 20, 2024, Hanoi residents will have a new option to use offline virtual bus tickets. This brings significant convenience to passengers who regularly use the bus, especially when there is no internet connection. By simply updating the new version of the Hanoi Traffic Ticket application, users can activate and use virtual tickets even when there is no internet connection.
It is very simple to use: Passengers just need to open the app, scan the QR code provided and present it to the bus staff. This QR code can be accessed at any time, even without internet, making it easy for passengers to travel without any obstacles.
Customers use the offline virtual card form without needing an internet connection during use.
Ms. Ngo Thi Phuong Anh, a newly graduated reporter, shared: "I often travel by bus to work and go out, so using electronic tickets is very convenient. With just a phone, I can travel everywhere on the city's bus routes. Not needing internet makes using virtual cards much more convenient."
The offline virtual ticket card format is designed to suit all users, from students, workers to the elderly. Notably, all monthly tickets and free cards for passengers on all subsidized bus routes in Hanoi can be used as virtual cards.
Each account will be issued a QR code containing full information of the cardholder such as name, card code, expiry date and type of object. This not only helps prevent fraud but also ensures transparency and security of passenger information. Moreover, the form of virtual ticket also contributes to reducing the cost of issuing physical cards, reducing the time and effort of having to go to monthly ticket registration points as before.
Each account will be given a QR code that works even without internet.
Mr. Tran Duc Anh, a resident of Dong Da district, said: "In the past, using paper monthly tickets was sometimes inconvenient because I often forgot to bring the ticket, and every month I had to go to the registration point again, which was very time-consuming. Now, I can take the bus with just my phone, and the virtual ticket card does not require the internet, making me feel even more comfortable."
Not only is it convenient and easy to use, passengers using virtual tickets will have their information securely secured. The application will continuously change the QR code after 30 seconds and even when there is no Internet connection, this QR code will still be confirmed by the scanner, retrieving the passenger's travel history as usual.
The deployment of virtual tickets without the need for the Internet is considered a digital transformation step to improve the quality of public passenger transport services, expected to connect all types of transport, opening up many opportunities for services such as electronic payment, online advertising on bus applications, aiming to build a smart and efficient public transport system.
