Dien Chau district has over 6,000 hectares of pine forest. The Forestry Department directs its subordinate units as well as forest owners and localities to maintain 100% of its personnel on duty 24/7 during hot weather. To proactively prevent and fight forest fires, up to now, Nghe An has treated over 3,000 hectares of pine understory vegetation, installed 7 new camera sets, bringing the total number of forest fire surveillance camera systems to 11. Repaired 250.99 km of white firebreaks, 100 km of green firebreaks. Prepared 272 handheld speakers, 245 blowers, 115 ground cover cutters, 32 pumps of various types, 104 saws, 1,537 fire extinguishers... to serve forest fires.
