International Day of Happiness - celebrating love and sharing

DTO - In June 2012, the United Nations declared March 20 as the International Day of Happiness (IHD). The first IHD was held by the United Nations on March 20, 2013. In Vietnam, on December 26, 2013, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 2589/QD-TTg approving the Project "Organizing activities to celebrate IHD every March 20". Since the Project was issued, along with the whole country, Dong Thap province has always actively implemented propaganda activities in response to IHD.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VH,TT&DL), QTHP Day has gradually become quite familiar to people in the province. This is a day to honor the values of happiness, an opportunity for all members of the family and community to express love, share and bring happiness to each other.

Every year, based on the guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism issues a Plan to organize many propaganda activities in response to the QTHP Day, with the theme "Love and share". Notably, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism posts many news and articles promoting the QTHP Day on the Department's website; the Provincial Library organizes document exhibitions and displays, and introduces books; the Department of Culture, Science and Information of districts, cities and communes, wards and towns proactively coordinates with sectors and localities to increase many forms of propaganda for people about the theme and message of the QTHP Day.

The QTHP Day on March 20, 2025 has the theme "Happiness for everyone", the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a Plan on organizing activities in response to the QTHP Day on March 20, 2025 and guiding localities in implementation. The response activities are focused in March, peaking from March 13 to 20, 2025. All levels, sectors, units and localities promote the dissemination of messages about the QTHP Day such as: "Happy family is the foundation of a happy nation", "Happiness will shine in a family without violence" and family work in the form of visual propaganda by hanging banners, billboards, posters; encourage the organization of film screenings, seminars, talks, and thematic activities with the theme "Happiness for everyone".

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism guides the Departments of Culture, Science and Information of districts, cities and localities to integrate into meetings, activities of branches, groups, associations and clubs in the locality the dissemination and popularization of the State's policies and laws on social security, building prosperous, progressive, happy and civilized families; setting an example of "good people, good deeds"; criticizing acts of domestic violence; actively mobilizing people to build happy families...

Through activities to continue raising awareness of sectors, levels and people about International Women's Day March 20, the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on family work in building prosperous, progressive, happy and civilized families. At the same time, attract the participation and response of the whole society in organizing activities to share and support the building of happy families and happy communities, contributing to preserving and promoting the good cultural values of the nation.
