
In 2023, the financial budget management work has achieved many positive results. Local budget revenue and expenditure reached over 17,533 billion VND, reaching 123% of the estimate. The revenue results have contributed to ensuring the balance of expenditure for the tasks assigned by the province from the beginning of the year; development investment expenditure tasks, salary reform and important tasks of the province.
In 2024, the financial sector will continue to strive to successfully complete the task of collecting and spending local budgets. In particular, strive to collect state budgets in the area exceeding the target assigned by the Provincial People's Council - Provincial People's Committee. Flexibly handle unexpected and arising spending tasks, well serving the province's political tasks on socio-economic development. Regularly grasp market price developments, promptly handle any unusual fluctuations in market prices; do a good job of advising the People's Committee to stabilize prices.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do emphasized: 2024 is forecasted to have many difficulties and challenges, so the financial sector needs to have specific solutions to effectively implement budget management. Leaders of the Department of Finance, Finance Offices of districts and cities in the province closely follow the leadership and direction of the Central Government and the province, always be proactive, grasp the situation, flexibly advise the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee in managing and operating financial and budget work. Ensure the mobilization and effective use of social resources to contribute to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development plan for 2024.

With its achievements, the Finance sector of Dien Bien province was awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag by the Government; many collectives and individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Finance, and the Provincial People's Committee for excellently completing their tasks in 2023.
