Hoang Mai Town (Nghe An)

In the 2021-2030 Planning period, with a vision to 2050, Nghe An province aims to increase the urbanization rate to 34-36% by 2025 and about 40-45% by 2030.

According to the roadmap, by 2025, the province will expand the administrative boundaries of Vinh city by merging Cua Lo town and some communes of Nghi Loc district located in the Vinh - Cua Lo corridor. At the same time, Dien Chau district will also be upgraded to a town.

When completed, Nghe An will have 4 large urban areas: Vinh City (expanded) is a type I urban area; 2 cities/towns are type III urban areas: Hoang Mai City, Thai Hoa Town; and 1 town Dien Chau is a type IV urban area.

By 2030, Nghe An province will have about 40-45 urban areas, including 5 large urban areas. Specifically, in addition to Vinh City and Hoang Mai City, Thai Hoa town will also become a provincial city (a type III urban area), and 2 towns will be type IV - III urban areas, namely Dien Chau and Do Luong.

Phu My Town (Ba Ria - Vung Tau)

Ba Ria - Vung Tau with an area of ​​1,987 km2 is the smallest province in the Southeast region. According to the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the province will develop into one of the important driving forces of the Southeast region.

On February 24, 2021, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 241 approving the national urban classification for the 2021-2030 period, in which Phu My town is ranked as a type II urban area and will become a city in 2025.

In 2023, the Department of Home Affairs of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province reported on the project to establish Phu My City and its affiliated wards.

Phu My town has met 11/11 standards to establish a city, in which three communes Tan Hai, Tan Hoa and Toc Tien all meet the standards to be upgraded to wards.

At the 21st session of the People's Council of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, term VII, 2021-2026, the resolution to establish Phu My city was passed. Phu My city will have a total natural area of ​​333.02 km2, a population of 195,591 people and 10 commune-level administrative units.

Binh Dinh province has approved the adjustment of the urban development program of An Nhon town until 2045. Accordingly, An Nhon is expected to be recognized as a city under the province in 2025.

By 2025, the city will have 11 administrative units meeting ward standards and 4 communes. In the 2026-2030 period, it is expected to establish one more ward.

By 2030, the total urban population will reach 220,000 people, of which the inner city will have about 183,700 people and the suburbs will have about 36,300 people.

Ky Anh Town (Ha Tinh)

According to the Ha Tinh Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Ky Anh town is expected to become a city under the province by 2025.

By 2030, Ha Tinh province will have two type II urban areas (Ha Tinh city and Ky Anh city), two type III urban areas (Hong Linh town and Duc Tho town) along with 12 type IV urban areas and 18 type V urban areas. Of these, 18 urban areas will be newly planned.

Ky Anh town has now completed 5/5 criteria for city construction with a total score of 88.12 (on a scale of 75 to 100).

But to complete the goal of becoming a city by 2025, the town is solving some problems regarding natural land area and incomplete zoning plans for Ky Ninh and Ky Nam.
