On January 29, Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company said that up to now, it has sold about 265,000 tickets for the Lunar New Year.
Assessing the increasing demand of people returning to their hometowns for Tet, the railway industry will organize the addition of additional carriages to passenger trains for the fourth time with nearly 2,000 seats during the peak days of Tet Giap Thin from February 5-19 (December 26 to January 10).
The company also informed that currently there are still tickets left before Tet on all days, including: Before February 1 and February 8, 9 (December 20, 21, 22 and December 29, 30) there are still tickets to all stations; from February 2-7 (December 23-28) there are few tickets left, mainly soft seats and extra seats.
After Tet, there are still tickets for all days, including: From February 10-13 and from February 18 onwards (1st-4th and 9th onwards) there are still tickets to all stations; from February 14-17 (5th-8th) there are few tickets left, mainly soft seats and extra seats.
The railway industry recommends that people do not buy tickets through intermediaries such as "brokers", "black marketers", or impersonators of railway staff to avoid buying fake tickets, tickets with incorrect information, tickets with altered ticket prices or travel dates (not valid for travel).
During Tet, passengers should arrange to arrive at the station about 30 minutes before the train departs and board the correct train, carriage number, and seat number to avoid missing the train. At the station entrance and carriage door, railway staff will check boarding passes and identification documents. Passengers whose personal information matches the information on the boarding pass will be allowed to enter the station to board the train.
