On November 25, Nam Dinh provincial leaders worked with the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) on the implementation of power transmission grid projects to serve socio-economic development in the province.
Attending the meeting were leaders of relevant departments, branches and localities of Nam Dinh province, leaders of EVNNPT, Northern Power Project Management Board, Power Transmission Project Management Board, and representatives of EVNNPT's professional departments.
The Nam Dinh regional power grid is currently supplied by two 220kV transformer stations with a capacity of 1000 MVA. Along with that, there are five 220kV lines connecting the regional power grid from power plants and other transformer stations. Currently, the lines and transformers are operating normally, however, the lines will have to carry high loads during hot weather.
To meet the development needs and improve the safety of power supply for the province in the coming time, based on the National Power Development Plan approved by the Prime Minister, EVNNPT is currently preparing to invest and implementing 7 transmission grid projects to increase the ability to connect and supply electricity, including:
Nam Dinh Thermal Power Plant 500kV Transformer Station Project and connecting lines. Currently, the project has not been approved by Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee on the station location plan.
Hai Hau 220kV Substation Project and connecting line, currently the Project has not been approved for investment policy.
The Nam Dinh 2 220kV Substation Project and connecting lines are currently taking steps and striving to be energized in 2026.
The Nam Dinh 500kV - Hau Loc Thermal Power 220kV transmission line project is completing documents to submit for investment policy.
The Nghia Hung 220kV substation project and connecting lines are currently making an outline for the consultancy work to prepare the project's investment policy documents.
The 220kV Nam Dinh 500kV - Ninh Binh 2 Thermal Power Line project is in the process of completing documents to submit to the investor.
The 220kV Ninh Binh 2 transformer station and the 220kV connecting lines (about 11.29 km through Nam Dinh) are currently awaiting re-negotiation of the route through Nam Dinh province.
At the meeting, leaders of Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches, localities, leaders of EVNNPT and affiliated units discussed and proposed solutions to speed up the project's progress. At the same time, EVNNPT leaders also made proposals and recommendations for Nam Dinh province to join in ensuring electricity supply for Nam Dinh province, especially the Nam Dinh Green Steel Project.
Mr. Tran Anh Dung - Permanent Vice Chairman of Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated EVNNPT for its proactive investment in building projects in recent times to ensure the best power supply for Nam Dinh province.
It is forecasted that in the coming time, the electricity demand of Nam Dinh province will grow strongly, especially steel projects. Therefore, Nam Dinh province requested EVNNPT to focus resources to implement projects that meet the required progress. Nam Dinh province said that it will allocate the best resources and support investors to complete power transmission projects early.
