According to the Hai Duong Tropical Diseases Hospital, the whole province has about 140,000 people with chronic hepatitis B. Of these, about 28,000 patients need care and treatment with medication.

However, currently only 6,000 patients are treated and monitored regularly, accounting for 21.4%. The rate of unmanaged hepatitis B patients is still very high. This is the cause of dangerous complications for people with hepatitis B.

There are 5 types of hepatitis virus including A, B, C, D and E. Hepatitis B virus alone has the greatest impact on health as up to 60% of liver cancer patients are infected with hepatitis B virus. Hepatitis B often progresses silently so patients are often subjective and ignore the symptoms. When feeling tired, jaundice, loss of appetite, prolonged insomnia, they go to medical facilities for examination. At this point, the disease has progressed to a dangerous stage of cirrhosis or liver cancer.

People with chronic hepatitis B need to have regular health check-ups every 3-6 months to monitor their condition and assess liver function. If the diagnosis is satisfactory, they will be prescribed antiviral hepatitis drugs.
