Raising public awareness about environmental sanitation
One of the top priorities that Quan Ba district focuses on is improving environmental sanitation. The district government has organized clean-up and garbage collection campaigns, and established volunteer teams from local socio-political organizations. As a result, many roads and public areas have been significantly improved.

The Party Committee and the government of Quan Ba district have directed the implementation of many appropriate measures and solutions. Especially the environmental criterion is in criterion 17, out of 19 criteria of the National Criteria for New Rural Development (NTM). Including 5 contents: The rate of households using clean water in rural areas according to national standards; production, business and livestock households must meet environmental standards; there are no activities that cause environmental degradation and there must be activities to improve the green - clean - beautiful environment; waste and wastewater are collected and treated according to regulations; there are people's cemeteries built according to approved regulations. Thanks to that, the rural environmental landscape is increasingly improving, becoming livable countrysides.

One of the important steps in improving the environment in Quan Ba is to raise public awareness of environmental sanitation. Therefore, Quan Ba district has launched the emulation movement "Volunteer Saturday, Green Sunday", launching a general environmental sanitation campaign in communes and towns, and the movement is maintained regularly and continuously on Saturdays or Sundays every week.
In addition, strengthen propaganda and mobilize each village and household to actively participate in environmental sanitation, not to let livestock roam freely; build solid and hygienic livestock barns; do not throw garbage and animal carcasses into ponds, lakes, rivers and streams.
Commune officials, civil servants, schools, and health stations set a positive example in cleaning up workplaces and office areas; mobilizing and guiding people to build a green - clean - beautiful environment... These are practical activities that Party committees and authorities from the district to the grassroots level carry out to change thinking, ways of thinking, ways of doing, and change old lifestyles to new, civilized lifestyles in ethnic minority communities. Contributing to protecting the environment and improving the quality of life for people. Thanks to that, the whole district has a rate of households using clean and hygienic water of 93% or more; 41 model residential areas; many livestock households have been and are moving barns away from their homes and solidifying their barns...
People are united, village roads are bright - green - clean - beautiful
Following the introduction, we came to Pho Lo Phin hamlet, Dau Cau 2 village, Can Ty commune, and felt a livable countryside. This is one of the hamlets that has done a good job of environmental sanitation in the commune. The concrete road is clean, now there is no "shadow" of plastic waste, nylon bags; fallen leaves are also collected in the right place.

Mr. Sung Minh Chung, Head of Pho Lo Phin Hamlet, shared that when the commune launched a campaign to clean up the environment, the people responded with great agreement and participated. For many years, the hamlet has implemented a model of self-managed youth roads, regularly cleaning and unclogging sewers. The hamlet also organized a campaign to clean up the hamlet roads and alleys.
"This is a practical work, helping to make the rural environment green - clean - beautiful, and the living environment of the people is also improved. Thanks to that, the village roads and alleys are always clear and clean. Besides, the movement of making stone fences, planting trees on both sides of the road to create green fences and flowers to create a landscape for the residential area has also received the consensus and response of the people. In 2020, Pho Lo Phin hamlet was recognized as a Model Residential Area of the commune" - Mr. Chung emphasized.

Talking to PV Dan Viet , Mr. Pham Ngoc Pha - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quan Ba district, Ha Giang province said: In addition to focusing on directing people to develop the economy and reduce poverty, environmental criteria are always of concern. Thanks to the joint efforts of the entire political system from the district to the grassroots, cadres, party members and people of all walks of life, after a long time of directing and implementing the pilot project, it has initially brought about clear and convincing results and has been supported by the people, actively participating as the main subject in building the new rural area. Up to now, the whole district of Quan Ba has formed 13 bright - green - clean - beautiful roads, the roads have been marked with road signs; socialized installation of public lighting systems; cleaning and embellishing the roads has been included in the conventions of the villages and hamlets.
Thanks to these efforts, Quan Ba district has achieved remarkable successes in implementing environmental criteria. The rural landscape has become cleaner and fresher, creating favorable conditions for tourism development and improving people's lives. People are also increasingly aware of environmental protection, contributing to building a sustainable community.
"In the coming time, Quan Ba district will continue to strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to raise awareness; coordinate with the district's Social Policy Bank and the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development to create conditions for people to borrow capital to develop the economy in the direction of building livestock barns, striving to soon complete environmental criteria," Mr. Pha added.
