Mr. Pham Dinh Xat (born in 1958, Thinh Bang village, Son Bang commune, Huong Son, Ha Tinh) has just submitted a request to the People's Committee of Son Bang commune to donate 200 square meters of land to build a village tutelary god temple.
The area where Mr. Pham Dinh Xat's family donated land to restore Nha Ong temple.
Before submitting the application to the Son Bang commune government, Mr. Xat held a family meeting. At the meeting, all members agreed to voluntarily donate 200 square meters of their family land for the commune government to restore the Nha Ong temple, also known as the village's Thanh Hoang temple.
Mr. Pham Dinh Xat shared: "My family agreed to donate the right to use part of the family's land to restore a meaningful spiritual work. After completing the project, my wife and I really hope to be allowed to do daily volunteer work such as cleaning, burning incense... at the temple.
According to Mr. Pham Quang Giao - a civil servant of the Son Bang Commune Department of Culture and Society, the locality highly appreciates the contribution of Mr. Pham Dinh Xat's family. In accordance with the wishes of the people, in the coming time, Nha Ong Temple will be restored on Mr. Xat's house area according to two options: rebuilding on-site or moving the temple from the Son Bang Commune People's Committee to its original location. However, the locality is leaning towards the relocation option. The land area donated by Mr. Xat is worth about 200 million VND.
Nha Ong Temple, also known as Truc Temple, is a spiritual structure with a long history in Son Bang commune. It worships Duc Ban Canh Thanh Hoang of Huu Bang village - a lucky god who protects the people. Legend has it that when he was alive, he had the merit of helping people protect the country, stabilize the country, and eliminate rebels. Nha Ong Temple was restored and embellished during the Le Trung Hung period. The most recent restoration was in 1897, under the Nguyen Dynasty. The temple is a wooden house with elaborate wood carvings, bearing the architectural imprint of the 17th century. This wooden house is currently located in the premises of the People's Committee of Son Bang commune. |
