Registration timeline for the 2024 competency assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City National University

Ho Chi Minh City National University said that this year, it will organize two rounds of capacity assessment exams in early April and early June. In the first round, candidates will register to take the exam from January 22 to March 4.

Candidates can register for the exam online and view information about sample exams, registration instructions and payment methods on the school's website.

The first round of the competency assessment exam was organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University on April 7 in 24 provinces/cities, including 21 localities as last year: Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, An Giang, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu. At the same time, the exam was expanded to 3 more localities: Thua Thien Hue, Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh. The results of the first round will be announced on April 15.

Phase 2 will be held on June 2 in 12 provinces/cities, including: Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tien Giang, An Giang. The results of phase 2 will be announced on June 10.

Candidates can take part in the first round, second round, or both rounds to increase their chances of admission. This year, Ho Chi Minh City National University continues to improve payment methods for candidates by focusing on using e-wallets to pay exam fees.

The competency assessment exam focuses on assessing candidates' basic university-level competencies such as: language use, logical thinking, data processing, and problem solving. In terms of format, the exam consists of 120 objective multiple-choice questions with a time limit of 150 minutes.

The structure of the competency assessment test consists of 3 parts: Language use; Mathematics, logical thinking, data analysis and Problem solving to assess the basic abilities of candidates for university study. The test focuses on assessing the ability to reason and solve problems, not the ability to memorize.
