The Politburo has decided to exempt all tuition fees for students from kindergarten to high school nationwide. The implementation time is from the beginning of the new school year 2025-2026 (September 2025 onwards). ( see details )
Many localities set up surprise inspection teams for extra teaching and learning after Circular 29
Currently, some localities have established inspection teams to implement regulations on extra teaching and learning after Circular 29 of the Ministry of Education and Training took effect.
Recently, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has established 5 inspection teams to inspect the implementation of Circular 29 on extra teaching and learning at public secondary and high schools and extra teaching facilities in 22 districts. These inspection teams will also check whether life skills centers are implementing the licensed content or not.
Previously, the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training established three teams to conduct surprise inspections of schools in all districts regarding compliance with regulations on extra teaching and learning according to Circular 29, from February 14 to the end of February. Two deputy directors of the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training and a department head under the Department headed the teams, responsible for organizing surprise inspections of schools in the assigned districts.
The People's Committee of Nam Dinh province requested the Department of Education and Training to strengthen information work, regularly review, grasp, inspect, check, and supervise the implementation of the regulations on secondary and high school enrollment and regulations on extra teaching and learning; request strict handling and public disclosure of violations according to regulations. For the People's Committees of districts and cities, Nam Dinh province is required to direct, inspect, and examine the contents of state management of education and training according to their authority, especially extra teaching and learning activities.

Agree on the plan to establish Dien Bien Phu University

The Ministry of Education and Training has just taken over the State management function of vocational education along with 3 universities, 12 colleges and 1 secondary school from the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
The unit operates under Decree No. 62/2022 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs: General Department of Vocational Education (including the Institute of Vocational Education Science as a affiliated public service unit).
3 units under the Prime Minister's decision-making authority: Nam Dinh University of Technical Education; Vinh University of Technical Education; Vinh Long University of Technical Education.
