The Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that currently, the cold air is strengthening and compressing the low pressure trough at about 25 - 28 degrees North latitude, connecting with the hot low pressure area in the West to the South.

It is forecasted that from now until March 12, cold air will continue to compress and push the low trough connecting with the hot low pressure area in the West to the South. Around March 5-6, cold high pressure will affect the northern region of our country. Northeast wind in the eastern sea is medium to weak, gradually getting stronger from March 7.

“The upper-level East wind disturbance is likely to become more active, causing unseasonal rain in the Ho Chi Minh City area from March 8 to 11. Higher-level, the subtropical high pressure over the Central region will weaken and retreat to the East,” the Southern Hydrometeorological Station forecast.

Accordingly, the meteorological agency forecasts that the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern region during the weekend (from now until March 2) will be sunny, hot in some places, with little rain during the day, high UV index, highest temperature around 34 - 35 degrees Celsius, some places over 35 degrees Celsius.

During the period from March 8 to 11, due to the influence of disturbances in the upper East wind zone, the Southern region (including) Ho Chi Minh City is likely to experience unseasonal rain. The probability of unseasonal rain in Ho Chi Minh City during this period is about 60%.

In March, Ho Chi Minh City and the South will have prolonged hot weather and unseasonal rain in many places.
