Every year, when the cold winds of early spring blow, Hue people look forward to the moment when the yellow apricot trees bloom and show off their bright colors in front of their houses, communal houses, and pagodas on the occasion of Lunar New Year.
However, this year due to erratic weather, the blooming season of yellow apricot flowers in Hue came later than usual, many days after Lunar New Year.
The first lunar month has ended, but many gardens and roads in Hue city are still bright with the yellow color of apricot blossoms.
Hoai Anh (a tourist from Hanoi) and her group of friends came to Hue at the end of the first lunar month.
Hoai Anh was truly amazed by the majestic, noble beauty of the apricot trees blooming along many streets in Hue.
Mixed in with the brilliant yellow are the young emerald green leaves just sprouting in the morning sun and dew, full of vitality.
"I thought Tet and spring had ended a long time ago, but surprisingly, that was not the case when I came to Hue and saw the apricot blossoms blooming beautifully.
I feel lucky to be in Hue this time, to see apricot blossoms and many other flowers blooming brilliantly under the spring sunshine," said Hoai Anh.

According to long-time apricot growers in Hue, the yellow apricot blossoms are blooming slowly this year mainly due to the erratic weather. The cold winter lasted longer, accompanied by drizzles at the time when the apricots need to accumulate nutrients to prepare for blooming.
This unusual change slows down the growth of the apricot tree, and the flowers cannot bloom in time for Tet.
Although blooming late, when the yellow apricot flowers begin to bloom in the days after Tet, Hue has a longer spring.
Locals and tourists have more opportunities to admire the elegant beauty of yellow apricot branches under the gentle sunlight, reflecting on the mossy tiled roofs of Hue citadel.
