Located on the border of Ta Giang Phinh commune, Sa Pa town, Lao Cai province and Son Binh commune, Tam Duong district, Lai Chau province, Ngu Chi Son is a mountain that is no stranger to trekking enthusiasts. Photo: NVCC
Despite having trekking experience, Doan Thi Kim Phuong (30 years old, Da Nang) still affirms that this is one of the quite difficult mountains to conquer. Photo: NVCC
Phuong shared that she learned about Ngu Chi Son after accidentally watching a video on TikTok. Because she was so overwhelmed by the majestic natural scenery, she decided to plan to conquer this mountain peak. Photo: NVCC
Before Ngu Chi Son, Phuong had experience trekking 4 other peaks: Lao Than, Muoi Mountain, Tay Con Linh and Ta Chi Nhu. However, Ngu Chi Son still left special impressions: "Luckily, the day I went, the weather was good, the sky was blue and there was a sea of clouds so I could see the full majesty of this mountain," Phuong shared. The scenery of Ngu Chi Son is wild and majestic with rich and diverse vegetation. In addition to rare herbs and medicinal plants, there are also many species of moss, mushrooms, lingzhi... clinging to the old trees. Photo: NVCC
The overlapping ranges of rocky mountains that connect one another like the shape of a hand make Ngu Chi Son known as the most majestic mountain in the Northwest. Photo: NVCC
This is not a suitable mountain for those who are trying trekking for the first time because of its steep slopes. In the ranking of the 15 highest mountains in Vietnam, Ngu Chi Son ranks 15/15 with an altitude of 2,858m but the difficulty is ranked 7/10. In particular, this trekking route will be a big challenge if it rains and is foggy. Photo: NVCC
“I am an office worker with little physical activity, so I am also “out of breath” with the continuous and steep slopes. Another inconvenience is that there is little drinking water here, so visitors need to prepare a certain amount of water in advance,” Phuong shared. Photo: NVCC
To conquer Ngu Chi Son, visitors should seriously practice some exercises of climbing hills, climbing stairs, and improving their health. Mentally, they should maintain the determination, comfort, and daring needed to reach the destination. In addition, because they are traveling on a tour, Phuong does not have to prepare too much. The cost of the trip is about more than 3 million VND. Photo: NVCC
If you plan to climb Ngu Chi Son, you should check the weather forecast and avoid going to this route during rainy or foggy times because it is very dangerous. At the same time, you must ensure that your health is stable. Photo: NVCC
After Ngu Chi Son, Phuong said he is planning to conquer Nhiu Co San peak, Lao Cai as soon as possible. Photo: NVCC
