Little girl dreams of becoming a member of the National Assembly

Dang Cat Tien, a student of class 9/3, Thai Nguyen Secondary School, Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa), is one of 20 young faces nominated by the Central Youth Union and the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund for the 2023 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award.

Previously, on September 10, 2023 at Dien Hong Hall (National Assembly), Cat Tien was chosen as "Chairman of the National Assembly" to preside over the 2023 Children's National Assembly mock session, with the participation of 263 children from 63 provinces and cities. Cat Tien impressed with her professional demeanor and courage throughout the session.

Cat Tien possesses an admirable record of academic and training achievements: second prize in the "National Reading Culture Ambassador" contest in 2021; third prize in online English for excellent provincial-level Team leaders; first prize in the English competition for excellent students at schools; Kim Dong award; national excellent Team leader award in 2023; title of Excellent Team Leader at the National Children's House Festival in 2022.

Cat Tien said that this was her first time participating in a large-scale activity, and she was nervous and worried. To prepare for the mock session, especially playing the role of "Chairman of the National Assembly", Tien learned about the guidelines and policies of the Party, State and National Assembly that were issued regarding children.

Through the mock session, Tien made proposals to enhance education, raise direct awareness for children, integrate the above contents into the curriculum; along with that, propaganda activities for children need to be organized more. Sharing her feelings when being in the top 20 candidates for the 2023 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces , Cat Tien felt very happy and honored to meet seniors with a lot of age, experience, many outstanding achievements and great contributions to society .

According to Cat Tien, the first skill to have good learning results is to always try to concentrate in class, take careful and complete notes and ask questions to master the knowledge. Regularly studying and doing all the exercises are necessary. But besides that, we also need to understand clearly what we have done and are doing, relearn from the mistakes of those exercises, thereby gradually filling the gaps in knowledge.

In addition to school hours, Cat Tien also studies and reads books to gain more knowledge and life skills. In her opinion, each book is like a friend, they also have a heart. When we buy a book, we choose a friend, when we read a book, we talk to that friend. One of the books Cat Tien likes the most is How to Win Friends and Influence People.

To achieve outstanding results, Cat Tien said that in addition to her own efforts, the guidance of teachers and the facilitation and support from her family also played an important role.

Growing up in a loving family, my parents have always been by my side on every path, always respecting and supporting my decisions. "Since elementary school, my mother has created all conditions for me to participate in the school and local Youth Union movements. She also often invests in extra classes for me such as drawing, violin, swimming. My mother is like a friend to whom I can confide when I am stressed or discouraged," said Cat Tien.

According to Ms. Phan Thi Thao Uyen, Principal of Thai Nguyen Secondary School, Cat Tien is an excellent student, always polite to teachers and sociable with friends. Every time she receives an assigned task, Cat Tien always completes it in the most excellent way.

Before the Children's National Assembly took place, Cat Tien wished to become a teacher in the future, because she wanted to impart the knowledge she had acquired through the process of cultivating and learning. After participating in the Children's National Assembly, Cat Tien had more motivation to try, so that when she returned to the National Assembly Building with a new role as a National Assembly delegate .

Sharing more about her upcoming plans, Cat Tien cherishes the dream of building a home for children in difficult circumstances and orphans in the future to partly compensate for the deprivation they have to endure, which is also a way to nurture the future buds of the country.
