On March 2, Mr. Nguyen Van Giang - a tourist in Long An - said that he is passionate about fishing, so he and 6 friends went to U Minh Thuong National Park (Kien Giang) to go trolling (a form of fishing that uses fake bait, snails or fake bait to drag on the water surface to lure fish to bite the hook to hunt for "giant" snakehead fish).
One day, Mr. Giang can catch 3-5 snakehead fish, sometimes a snakehead fish weighing more than 5kg, impressing and exciting anglers like him.
"I heard that there are many big fish in the U Minh Thuong area, so I came here to experience fishing. The snakehead fish in this area are big. Today is my second day here fishing," Giang happily said.

According to Tuoi Tre Online , U Minh Thuong National Park still retains the natural beauty of lush green cajuput forests; both sides of the road leading to the water meadow in this park are covered with green trees.
The water of the canals is crystal clear. Anglers take advantage of the opportunity to row their boats to fish, blending in with the aquatic life, especially the water fern in the season of changing leaves, dyeing the vast expanse of water yellow, as beautiful as a painting.
The leader of U Minh Thuong National Park said that U Minh Thuong National Park has a total natural area of 8,509.59 hectares (special-use forest 8,038 hectares, protection forest 471.59 hectares).
U Minh Thuong National Park has a natural vegetation system such as Melaleuca forests, seasonally flooded grasslands, aquatic swamps, creeks and canals. After the forest fire in 2002, this park has formed a vast water area with many species of fish (snakehead fish, catfish, perch, snakehead fish...) living.
This is also a natural condition for the unit to exploit additional fishing services. However, during the peak of the dry season (April and May every year), the forest is at high risk of fire, so the unit will not allow people or tourists to go fishing in the forest to ensure safety in forest fire prevention and fighting.
