According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the coming days, the North will be affected by two cold air waves, with many places experiencing severe cold.
The Southern Hydrometeorological Station also stated that around the night of January 4-5, the cold air will weaken and weaken in our country, and on January 8-9, it will strengthen even more. Above, the subtropical high pressure will be active over the South and Central Central regions. The Northeast monsoon will be of medium to strong intensity.
With the above patterns, the meteorological agency said that in the coming days, the weather in the North and North Central regions, including the capital Hanoi, will continue a series of rainless days, with scattered fog and light fog in the early morning, sunny and dry during the day; cold in the morning and at night.
Notably, from January 8-13, when the cold air strengthens, there will be rain in some places; it will be cold, with some places in the mountainous areas of the North experiencing severe cold.
As for Hanoi's weather, according to the weather and temperature update table for the next 10 days, this area will maintain a low cloud pattern, no rain at night, the highest temperature during the day is 24-25 degrees, the lowest is 13-14 degrees.
From January 8-9, the weather in the area will be more gloomy, cloudy, no rain, daytime temperatures range from 16-23 degrees.
From November 10-13, the lowest temperature in Hanoi is 15-16 degrees, the highest is 21-22 degrees, cloudy, light rain, ending the dry period.
Meteorological experts say that although the temperature during this period does not drop significantly, it is accompanied by light rain so the feeling of cold is quite obvious.
For the Central Central region, from January 5-8, there will be rain in some places; cold in the morning and at night; from about January 9-13, there will be rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places; cold.
The South Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. Thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
In Ho Chi Minh City, from January 5-10, there will be no rain, sunny days and cold early mornings. The lowest temperature is generally from 21-24 degrees. Some places will have light fog in the early morning.
According to meteorological experts, in January, cold air tends to be more active than in December 2024; there is a high possibility of causing many days of severe cold in the northern provinces, possibly concentrated in mid-January; there is a risk of frost and ice.
In addition, from January 4-6, in the East Sea area (including the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos), wave heights ranged from 4-6m; in the area from Quang Tri to Binh Thuan, wave heights were generally 3-5m, with rough seas. From January 7, wave heights tended to decrease gradually in the sea areas, in areas outside the East Sea and the southern sea areas, wave heights decreased slightly but remained high.
