Participating in Miss Charm 2024, MC Quynh Nga said she was not favored, but on the contrary, she suffered a lot of pressure. The beauty is ready to accept compliments, criticisms, and conflicting opinions to improve herself.
Not favored at all when competing in Miss Charm
- How do you mentally prepare for the Miss Charm 2024 final?
I am excited for the upcoming finale - the decisive moment to close a meaningful journey. The best preparation needs to be honed beforehand and I believe I am ready.
Currently, I focus on maintaining my health, keeping my spirit comfortable and reviewing the skills I have practiced. I want to bring to the stage a confident, radiant image and fully express the value of modern Vietnamese women.
- Quynh Nga is confident in what makes her different and stand out among more than 30 beautiful girls from all over the world?
Each girl who comes to Miss Charm brings her own beauty from her country, people and culture. For a Vietnamese girl like me, the biggest difference comes from her knowledge base, experience working in the media field and understanding of her homeland.
Thanks to my foreign language skills and time studying abroad, I have had the opportunity to learn from many different countries, helping me to be more open-minded, to love the beauty of differences and to easily integrate. This helps me to be more confident in communicating, behaving and expressing myself in a multicultural environment.
Furthermore, I want to bring to Miss Charm the story of a modern, dynamic, intelligent and compassionate Vietnamese woman.
- What is Quynh Nga's goal for the final night? If you are lucky enough to be crowned or reach the top, what will you do?
My biggest goal is to do my best on stage. If I am lucky enough to win the crown or be in the top, I will take advantage of the opportunity to carry out charity projects, contribute to building the community and promoting the image of Vietnam to the world.
I hope my story will be an inspiration for young people to continue pursuing their passion. Believe that when we really want something, we will have a second chance.
- Quynh Nga joined the Miss Charm race later than the other contestants. What is your response to the suspicion that she received preferential treatment from the organizers throughout the competition?
I understand everyone's concerns about the fact that I, a Vietnamese girl, have an advantage as a contestant from the host country. However, if you look at the results of Miss Charm last year, you will see that the judges and organizers were completely impartial. Therefore, I am confident that all opportunities are given equally to all contestants.
I also encountered many difficulties due to my health and unsuitable schedule. Because I had to complete my final exams, I had to fly urgently and missed some of the competition activities. Therefore, I had to work twice as hard to prove that if I was placed in a high position, it was a fair decision of the competition.
- During the semi-final night, Quynh Nga had an accident falling during the bikini competition. Many people said that because you were not well prepared, your performance was not perfect. What do you think?
Falling in the semi-final was unexpected. Even with careful preparation, unexpected incidents can still happen. The important thing is that I stood up with an optimistic attitude, positive energy and continued the competition.
I have encountered many incidents in life and have overcome them, to gain valuable lessons. What needs to happen will happen, I consider it as a lesson for myself.
Try to assert yourself, be ready to accept praise and criticism
- What puts pressure on you when participating in the competition?
The biggest pressure for me is to fully and properly represent the image of Vietnamese women on the international arena. The expectations of family, friends and audiences are a great motivation, but also a pressure. However, I am confident that I will turn the pressure into motivation to try harder in the final stretch.
- How do you deal with negative and conflicting opinions from netizens?
I always listen and accept all contributions with an objective view and positive attitude. Objectively so as not to be subjective, thinking that I have done well but why are people so strict?
Negative opinions, if peeled away from the thorny layer, will help to see the reality inside. Sometimes the strict "looking at every detail" helps me realize things I have never seen before.
Positivity is what I have always brought from the first day of entering the competition. No matter what, I am ready to enter the competition confidently to shine the brightest.
- Having been an MC for many VTV programs, and having a good educational and social background, does Quynh Nga's decision to participate in a beauty pageant at the age of 29 seem risky?
I don't think it's risky. Any competition or game needs elements of surprise, difficulty and risk. Otherwise, the results will not make us proud.
I believe age is not a barrier to achieving what we want, whether in competition or anything in life.
- How have your family and friends shared and supported you these past days?
My family and friends are always a great source of encouragement for me. My mother always tells me to take care of my health so that I can shine and prove that I am a modern, brave Vietnamese woman.
In addition, some friends flew from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City to support me from the semi-final night to the final. That feeling will always follow me in the decisive moment on stage.
- What is Quynh Nga's plan for herself after the contest ends?
I will continue to pursue my passion in the field of media and MC - BTV, but from a new perspective. I want to apply the knowledge from the Master's program to improve the field of media and contribute to building a better image of Vietnam in the eyes of international friends.
As a young person in the media field, I wish to use my influence, experience and knowledge to contribute to the common values of society, and at the same time become a source of motivation for many girls to dare to pursue their dreams.
