Flying car challenges Philippines' unique geography

Florida-based LuftCar recently announced a groundbreaking partnership with eFrancisco Motor Corporation (eFMC) from the Philippines. The partnership aims to develop, integrate, deploy, brand and market innovative, cutting-edge smart mobility solutions.

This partnership focuses on creating advanced air vehicles for transportation, incorporating the deployment of hydrogen propulsion technology, to serve various industries, including defense, regional transportation, entertainment, tourism, healthcare, etc. This strategic alliance is dedicated to the Philippine market, aiming to revolutionize the region's transportation.

The highlight of this partnership is the flying car prototype called LUFT - PINOY eVTOL. It is a vertical take-off and landing vehicle that integrates hydrogen propulsion technology. LuftCar will lead the overall development of the flying car prototype, while eFMC will focus on the development of the vehicle chassis.

According to company experts, the LUFT - PINOY eVTOL is specifically designed to meet the unique geographical challenges of the Philippines, a country of more than 7,100 islands. Envisioned real-world applications range from public transportation, last-mile delivery to tourist destinations, healthcare, emergency response, and even defense.

Santh Sathya, CEO of LuftCar, expressed his excitement about the importance of this strategic project for the Philippines. He also highlighted the potential of hydrogen propulsion technology in addressing the region’s long-distance, heavy-duty transportation needs.

Elmer Francisco, CEO of eFrancisco, emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation in pushing the boundaries of technology forward, inviting bright minds to join their ambitious project. And Camarines Norte, home to eFMC’s 200-hectare Special Economic Zone, is designated to be at the epicenter of this innovative transportation technology revolution.

The combination of hydrogen propulsion and vertical take-off and landing technology in the LUFT - PINOY eVTOL project represents a paradigm shift in transportation.
