A series of large displacement motorcycles have landed in Vietnam, many models are more expensive than cars.

(Dan Tri) - Vietnam Motor Show (VMS 2024) marks the return of many motorbike and motorcycle brands, attracting the attention of many speed enthusiasts.
Despite the absence of many luxury car brands, the Vietnam Motor Show (VMS) 2024 still has many interesting points, attracting a large number of visitors. In addition to a series of new products launched within the framework of the exhibition, this event also impressed with the participation of many motorcycle and motorbike brands. There are a total of 8 two-wheeled brands appearing at VMS 2024, such as: Honda, Yamaha, SYM, UM Motorcycles, Harley-Davidson, Triumph, KTM and Husqvarna. This number has increased dramatically compared to previous exhibitions, in the context of the increasingly diverse motorcycle market in our country.
Yamaha's booth is the largest of the two-wheeled vehicle brands appearing at VMS 2024, and is located in the center of the main area (Hall A). With the theme Future to the Max, the Japanese automaker brings a large number of vehicles with full segments, from scooters to large-displacement motorcycles, electric vehicles and concept vehicles. The largest number of which are the Maxi Series vehicles. Yamaha also introduced 2 concept vehicles at VMS 2024 including Motoroid, Elove with the ability to self-recognize the owner, the ability to self-transform or self-drive, self-balance without operating the throttle. In addition, the Japanese automaker introduced the new Maxi line at the exhibition, including models such as TMAX, NMAX, XMAX 300, NVX and LEXi 155 VVA ABS.
After Yamaha, Honda Vietnam's motorcycle and motorbike display area is also quite large. The Japanese automaker attracted attention when it brought to VMS 2024 its entire product range, and took the opportunity to introduce two new electric motorbike models, called CUV e: and ICON e:. Honda's large-displacement motorbike display area is located between the car and motorbike areas. There are some highlight models such as the sportbike and naked bike pair CBR650R, CB650R with new E-Clutch technology, or the adventure model NX500 for those who love "traveling". The highlight of the motorcycle product line that Honda brings to VMS 2024 is the sportbike CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP 2024. The car costs up to 1.051 billion VND, approaching a D-class SUV like the Ford Everest (from 1.099 billion VND). In the new version, the car uses electronic throttle technology, upgraded Brembo brake system with higher performance and the world's first Ohlins Smart Electronic Control electronic suspension system. The engine also has improved power and torque in the mid-rpm range.
SYM owns the third largest booth in the series of two-wheeled vehicle brands appearing at VMS 2024. This is a motorcycle brand from Taiwan, which has many years of development and business in Vietnam. The current product line of this brand is focusing on 50cc vehicles, with prices that are easily accessible to the main customer group of students. Coming to VMS 2024, SYM brings a total of 12 models, including notable names such as DRGBT150, MMBCU150, VF185, Wolf, Priti 125, Tuscany 150...
Large-displacement motorcycle brands from Europe and the US also attracted attention with their expensive vehicle lineups. Located in the center of Hall B is the display area of Harley-Davidson, Triumph Motorcycles, KTM and Husqvarna Motorcycles distributed by Al Naboodah International Group. Notable names here include Harley Davidson CVO Road Glide ST, Road Glide 2024, Triumph Daytona 660, Triumph Bonneville T120, KTM 790 Adventure R, Husqvarna Adventure Touring Norden 901, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401... Some motorcycle models are even among the most expensive models of VMS 2024, typically Harley Davidson CVO Road Glide ST (VND 2.5 billion) or CVO Street Glide (VND 2.3-2.7 billion), higher than the prices of many car models participating in this exhibition.
Among the two-wheeled vehicle brands appearing at VMS 2024, UM Motorcycles is the name that is being introduced to Vietnamese consumers for the first time. This is an American motorcycle brand, established in 1999 and is now present in more than 40 countries. In this "debut", UM Motorcycles brings 4 products in the low segment (2 125cc models and 2 300cc models). Of which, Scrambler X 125 is a Scrambler-style model, the remaining 3 lines (Renegade Sport 125, ST 300 and Freedom 300) all have cruiser designs. The series of UM Motorcycles launched at VMS 2024 is aimed at new customers joining the "motorcycle" sport. The company's representative said that the two 125cc models will cost around 82-100 million VND, and the two 300cc models are expected to cost around 120-150 million VND.
