Roadmap for innovation and digitalization for the future

The upcoming Vietnam Business Exchange (VBEx) Conference (November 30 - December 1) at the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Science and Technology Associations will provide small and medium-sized enterprises with tools to quickly connect with the ASEAN market.

The conference aims to support small and medium enterprises in business innovation, and is expected to introduce tools to bridge Vietnam, Singapore and ASEAN markets.

The 2023 event, themed “Vietnam’s Roadmap for Innovation and Digitalization for the Future”, is expected to include the VBEx Conference, the VBEx Roundtable, as well as the launch of a business networking tool called VBEx Connect. In addition, the 15th M&A Forum, organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, will also take place in parallel.

The conference is expected to attract 150 senior business executives from leading fintech hubs in Singapore, Shenzhen (China), Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, to discuss areas such as technology, ESG (environment, society and governance) and fintech.

George Choo, Chairman of the Association of the Telecommunications Industry of Singapore (AtiS), said: “Vietnam is a young, dynamic country with a rapidly growing economy. Meanwhile, Singapore is well-positioned to be a key partner in Vietnam’s journey to become a leading digital economy.

VBEx aims to act as a bridge between the Vietnamese and Singaporean business communities, while promoting cooperation and innovation in key areas such as technology, ESG and fintech.”

Sharing the same opinion, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong, Chairman of the Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA) hopes that Singapore, "with its long history of success in supporting businesses to develop and grow, can help Vietnamese businesses access markets, capital sources, as well as the latest technology".

“Vietnam has a young and dynamic workforce, a growing economy and a strong commitment to innovation. Singaporean businesses can benefit from Vietnam’s talented and competitive workforce, attractive investment incentives and proximity to other ASEAN markets,” said Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong.

VBEx will bring together the Vietnamese and Singaporean business communities to explore opportunities for cooperation and development. We believe that both countries have many opportunities to offer each other and VBEx will play an important role in strengthening the economic relationship between our two countries."

The VBEx event will take place in the context of Vietnam and Singapore celebrating the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations.
