According to The Verge, Anthropic - a technology startup is launching its latest artificial intelligence (AI) model called Claude 3.5 Sonnet.
This model is twice as fast as its predecessor and is considered by experts to be on par with, or even superior to, OpenAI's GPT-4o or Google's Gemini 1.5 Pro in a variety of tasks.
The model is now available to Claude users on the web and iOS, and Anthropic also offers it to software developers.
Anthropic says Claude 3.5 Sonnet will help users write and translate code, handle multi-step workflows, interpret charts, and copy text from images. Additionally, the new Claude will be able to understand humor and write in a more human-like way.
Along with the new model, Anthropic is also introducing a new feature called Artifacts. With Artifacts, users will be able to view and interact with the results on Claude.

Additionally, if a user requests a new model to design something, they can show the user an image and allow editing right within the app.
Additionally, if you ask Claude to write an email, you can also edit the email in the Claude app instead of having to copy the text to a text editor. It's a small but clever feature.
The start-up is expected to complete the Claude 3.5 model and release Claude 3.5 Haiku and Claude 3.5 Opus by the end of this year.
Anthropic previously shared that its AI products are primarily enterprise-focused and said it would turn Claude into a tool for companies to securely centralize their knowledge, documents, and ongoing work in a shared space instead of publishing it externally on AI software.
