Provincial Cooperative Union deploys tasks for the last 6 months of the year

Up to now, the economic and cooperative sectors in the province have developed 142 OCOP products of 117 cooperatives and cooperative groups certified by the Provincial People's Committee. In general, cooperatives continue to demonstrate their active supporting role, creating links, cooperation and effective operations, connecting cooperatives and members and member households.

On the morning of July 11, the Provincial Cooperative Union held a conference to review the collective economy situation, cooperatives and activities of the Provincial Cooperative Union in the first 6 months of the year; deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2024.

At the conference, comrade Le Hong Hai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union, reported on the development of the collective economy and activities of the Provincial Cooperative Union in the first 6 months of the year and deployed key tasks for the last 6 months of 2024.

In the first 6 months of the year, the Provincial Cooperative Union has focused on propaganda work, coordinating with relevant departments, branches and units to closely follow the practical situation to deploy action plans to cooperatives. Accordingly, in the first 6 months, the whole province established 24 new cooperatives, equal to 96% of the yearly plan, bringing the total number of cooperatives in the province to 1,331. Including: 845 agricultural cooperatives, 124 trade - service cooperatives, 180 industrial - handicraft cooperatives, 20 construction cooperatives, 25 transport cooperatives, 67 people's credit funds, 29 environmental cooperatives and 41 other cooperatives.

Along with that, the Provincial Cooperative Union has organized and coordinated 46 conferences, training courses, and capacity building for more than 2,000 managers and members of cooperatives on the following contents: Management capacity of cooperatives, People's Credit Funds, supplementing and amending the Charter, Production and business plans, accounting and auditing operations in cooperatives, operations of the Board of Control (controllers), building operating regulations, trade promotion, building chain models, poverty reduction models... At the same time, consulting and supporting 21 cooperatives and cooperative members to participate in 4 trade promotion events in Hanoi, Dien Bien province, Nghe An province and Da Nang city.

Thanks to the good performance of the tasks and plans set out, the Provincial Cooperative Union has more clearly demonstrated its role as a representative unit protecting the legitimate rights and interests of member units, strengthening the connection between members.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing the positive results that the collective economy and cooperatives in the province have achieved; at the same time, they frankly pointed out the difficulties and limitations in the operation process, such as: Most cooperatives have little capital, small production scale, the development of production linkages associated with the value chain and capital mobilization of members and member households is still limited. Many cooperatives have not demonstrated the role of connecting cooperatives with the market, the connection of interests between cooperatives and members is still vague. Currently, there are 14 cooperatives that have not completed the transformation and reorganization according to regulations. Many cooperatives are still operating in a formal manner, without clear changes; the human resources with qualifications, management capacity, operation and skills of cooperatives are not high...

Based on discussions and contributions, the Provincial Cooperative Union has deployed tasks for the last 6 months of 2024. Therein, focusing on doing a good job of advising, participating in the development and implementation of policies, programs, projects, and plans for the development of collective economy and cooperatives; effectively implementing consulting and support activities for cooperatives; encouraging the construction of cooperative models linked to production associated with value chains, supply chains, and product consumption. At the same time, launching cooperatives to respond to and well implement emulation movements organized by the province and the Provincial Cooperative Union, thereby honoring, rewarding, and introducing typical collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in building and developing collective economy and cooperatives.

Also at the conference, the Provincial Cooperative Union held the 9th conference of the Executive Committee of the 6th Thanh Hoa Provincial Cooperative Union, term 2020 - 2025.
