On April 8, Thanh Hoa Electricity Company held a conference on electricity supply and electricity services in 2025.

In 2024, Thanh Hoa Power Company has ensured safe, continuous and stable power supply to serve socio -economic development and people's lives, service quality has been increasingly improved, digital transformation, grid modernization and administrative procedure reform have been promoted, creating favorable conditions for customers and businesses. By the end of 2024, Thanh Hoa Power Company is selling electricity to 854,140 customers with commercial electricity output reaching 7.77 billion kWh, up 9.43% over the same period in 2024, being the unit with the third largest commercial electricity output in the entire Northern Power Corporation.

In the field of electricity supply, especially during the peak of hot weather, the non-commercial load adjustment (DR) program has also been actively and effectively implemented. In the province, 209/209 customers have agreed and signed a commitment to participate in the agreement. The capacity reduction type 1 (before 2 hours) is 87.674MW; the capacity reduction type 2 (before 24 hours) is 174.571MW. In 2024, the company has carried out 3 DR events including 1 above-mentioned drill event and 2 live events, with a total capacity of 210MW.

Entering 2025, Thanh Hoa set a target of 11% or more growth in gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2025. In addition, weather forecasts show that the heat wave will come earlier and be more extreme than in 2024. Electricity consumption for daily life will also increase dramatically. The power system in the Northern region is still at risk of peak capacity shortage during peak hours, especially on extremely hot days from April to August 2025.

To be proactive in ensuring electricity supply, especially during the peak months of the dry season in 2025, the company has been implementing a number of solutions such as: Accelerating the progress and early energizing investment projects to build power grids from 0.4kV to 110kV; establishing methods and operating the optimal power system; developing power supply scenarios, updating factors on load demand, to proactively establish and adjust power system operation plans with the goal of ensuring adequate power supply in all situations.

On this occasion, Mr. Hoa Thai Thanh, Energy Efficiency Expert, Vietnam Technology Solutions Joint Stock Company (VETS) shared information about support programs for energy-using facilities, contributing to the common goal of using energy economically and efficiently with the participation of international organizations such as: Danish Energy Agency, Korean International Cooperation Organization KOICA, World Bank, German International Cooperation Organization GIZ,...

In the coming time, along with improving, innovating, creating, further enhancing the quality of products and services, Thanh Hoa Electricity Company will continue to promote the provision of electricity services with full legal basis according to the provisions of Vietnamese law and implementation capacity such as: Supervision consulting; design consulting; testing/testing/inspecting electrical equipment; management of power line and substation operations; construction; repair of electrical works... to meet the needs and enhance the satisfaction of electricity customers.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Xuan Liem said: For Thanh Hoa province, the electricity sector plays an important role in promoting the progress of investment in building industrial infrastructure, helping to improve the business investment environment, attracting investment in new projects; at the same time, it contributes significantly to creating more jobs for workers, promoting the development of other production and service sectors, increasing revenue for the state budget, ensuring social security for people in remote, isolated and particularly disadvantaged areas of the province. With its responsibility, in recent years, Thanh Hoa has been actively implementing national programs on energy saving and efficiency; always closely coordinating with Vietnam Electricity Group, Northern Power Corporation in the process of investing in electricity projects, as well as protecting the safety of electricity projects and high-voltage grid safety corridors.

This conference is very important for Thanh Hoa Electricity Company to inform and propagate about programs on efficient and economical use of electricity; at the same time, it is an opportunity for state management agencies, experts, associations and the business community in Thanh Hoa province to exchange, express opinions, and find effective solutions to implement the electricity demand management program, the load adjustment program, aiming to reduce the peak load capacity of the power system, reduce investment pressure for the electricity industry, and improve the quality of electricity supply to customers.

On this occasion, on behalf of the leaders of Thanh Hoa province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Xuan Liem requested the business community in the province to actively participate in the load adjustment program that the electricity sector is implementing for the benefit of the businesses themselves, the electricity sector and the province. At the same time, he requested businesses to research, invest in upgrading and replacing high-performance, energy-saving transmission lines and machinery, contributing to promoting sustainable development and environmental protection. He also requested the Northern Power Corporation to continue to pay attention to investing in the power grid infrastructure in Thanh Hoa province, ensuring safe, continuous and stable power supply for production and daily life of businesses and people.
