Consulting people about granite paving of Thien Quang lake

Hanoi The investor will pave about 50 meters of natural granite on a section of the sidewalk and walking path around Thien Quang Lake for people to give their opinions before implementing it synchronously.

In early April, the Hai Ba Trung District Construction Investment Project Management Board began construction of underground items at the Tran Nhan Tong - Quang Trung intersection after consulting with the community on the urban design project around Thien Quang Lake.

According to the investor, along with burying the technical system to provide free wifi and security cameras, the construction unit also tested paving a section of the sidewalk and the walking path around the lake with granite to get public opinion. Granite is a natural material available domestically in Phu Yen and Binh Dinh provinces and has high aesthetic value.

"The layers of the base structure, size and thickness of the stone ensure durability similar to the paving stones at Hoan Kiem Lake before," said the investor representative.

In addition, the flower beds are also designed similarly to the Hoan Kiem Lake to increase green areas and reduce the density of concrete. All trees and flower gardens are kept in their original state and some types of trees suitable for the new landscape architecture can be added.

Taking into account the opinions of the people and experts, the district will eliminate the semi-underground toilet project, about 90 cm above ground level at the corner of Quang Trung - Nguyen Du, so as not to limit the view at this intersection with the lake area and the space of the cluster of three pagodas opposite.

The investor also plans to propose that the Hanoi Drainage Company raise the water surface level of the lake to increase the water surface area and at the same time increase the aesthetics after completing the renovation.

The Hai Ba Trung District Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the first phase of underground construction will only take place at night to ensure security, order and hygiene. After that, the units will work simultaneously day and night so that the project can be completed after 4 months of implementation.

The urban design project for the area around Thien Quang Lake at a scale of 1/500 is part of the project for the pedestrian space of Thien Quang Lake and its vicinity. The project has a total investment of 109 billion VND from the budget and is scheduled to be completed before October 2024.
