As a locality with strong advantages in agriculture, especially organic agriculture and high-tech agriculture, Lam Dong province is making efforts to promote the export of advantageous products such as tea, coffee, passion fruit, macadamia, avocado, durian and silk textile products to the UK.

Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Pham S said that with its existing potential and advantages, the province has many opportunities to expand cooperation with localities in the UK, especially after the UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA) takes effect from May 1, 2021.
He suggested that British localities, associations, organizations and businesses strengthen cooperation with Lam Dong in promoting trade, investment, tourism and boosting the consumption of the province's products in this potential market at a workshop in the West Midlands region of the UK in early October.
Over the years, trade, investment and tourism cooperation between Lam Dong province and the UK has continuously developed.
Lam Dong currently has four valid projects invested by the UK with a total registered capital of more than VND4.1 trillion (US$172.5 million), accounting for 31.7% of the total foreign investment capital in the province.
In 2022, the province exported about 7.67 million USD worth of goods to the UK, with key items including coffee, vegetables, raw materials and garment products. The locality also spent 2.1 million USD importing goods from the UK.
Last year, the area welcomed nearly 5,700 British visitors. In the first nine months of this year, 4,500 British tourists visited the area. That number is expected to rise significantly soon.
For sustainable development in the integration period, Lam Dong calls on foreign enterprises, especially British enterprises, to come and learn about and invest in advantageous areas of the province on the principle of mutually beneficial cooperation, contributing to creating breakthroughs and promoting its advantages.
Local authorities say the economy will grow rapidly and sustainably.
In addition, the province is promoting administrative reforms to create breakthroughs in improving the investment and business environment and accompanying and resolving difficulties and problems of investors, including British investors.
Lam Dong is a province with strengths in agriculture, especially organic agriculture and high-tech agriculture. By the end of 2022, agriculture still accounts for 38.62% of Lam Dong's economic structure, with the industry's GRDP reaching nearly 38,000 billion VND. The average production value per unit area reaches 243 million VND/ha, with the production area meeting the criteria of high-tech agriculture reaching over 65,300 ha.
Some of Lam Dong's main agricultural products include coffee, tea, vegetables, flowers, fruit trees, mulberries, dairy cows, etc. Thereby, 182 chains have been formed to link agricultural product consumption and quality control according to the safety chain, meeting international competitiveness. At the same time, Lam Dong province focuses on developing brands and trademarks for vegetables, flowers, Arabica coffee and agricultural tourism.
Lam Dong agricultural products have been exported to more than 40 countries around the world, with traditional markets including: Northeast Asia, Europe, and North America./.
