"Tree Planting Festival forever remembers Uncle Ho"
The ceremony was held in response to the movement "Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho" launched by the Government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and at the same time implementing the Project to plant one billion trees in the period of 2021 - 2025 approved by the Government, Resolution 03-NQ/TU dated February 3, 2021 of the Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee on sustainable forest development in the period of 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030. At the same time, implementing President Ho Chi Minh's teaching "Spring is the Tet tree planting, making the country more and more springy" and actively responding to the "Tet tree planting" movement launched nationwide.

It is known that Nam Nhun district (Lai Chau province) has a planned forestry land area of 92,216.08 hectares. In addition to economic development and increasing people's income, the protection and development of the district's forests also aims to enhance protection, ensure water security, and energy security for the whole country and the Northern Delta.
To complete the Prime Minister's plan to plant 1 billion trees in the 2021 - 2025 period "For a green Vietnam"; Resolution No. 03-NQ/TU, dated February 3, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on sustainable forest development in the 2021 - 2025 period, with a vision to 2030, Nam Nhun district has developed a specific plan to implement the movement "everyone plants trees, every household plants trees".

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Giang Pao My - Secretary of Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee suggested that Nam Nhun district and localities, agencies and units actively respond to "Tet tree planting" in a practical, effective, unobtrusive manner, associated with propaganda, creating conditions for each cadre, party member, civil servant, public employee and people to participate in planting trees and afforestation; Secretary of Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee suggested that local authorities and people continue to respond to the movement to plant more trees.

The launching ceremony of "Tree Planting Festival" today was held in Pu Dao commune - a place with natural beauty and voted by many world travel websites as the most beautiful place to watch the sunrise in Southeast Asia; Pu Dao is very favorable for developing eco-tourism and resorts, Nam Nhun district is also planning to develop this type of tourism.

However, to do this, the protection and development of forests needs to be paid more attention by the district and commune authorities; promote propaganda and mobilize people not to burn forests for farming, not to illegally exploit forests; actively compete in planting trees and forests to both beautify the village landscape and protect the living environment. Turn the tree planting movement into a practical and meaningful activity throughout the district, achieving multiple objectives, both promoting the socio-economic development of the province and district, protecting the ecological environment, ensuring water security, especially ensuring the safe and effective operation of the Lai Chau Hydropower Plant.
Sharing at the launching ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dong, Vice Chairman of Nam Nhun District People's Committee said: All levels, sectors and localities in the district continue to promote extensive propaganda work among all cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and people of all walks of life about the purpose and significance of forest protection and development.

Develop a specific plan to respond to the movement "everyone plants trees, every household plants trees" striving for the period of 2021 - 2025, the whole district will plant 2,000 hectares of forest (including over 1,600 hectares of cinnamon trees and over 100 hectares of large timber trees). The plan for 2024 is to plant 330.5 hectares of forest (including 50 hectares of protective forest, 275 hectares of cinnamon production forest and 5.5 hectares of scattered trees), take good care of the forest area and planted fruit trees. Prepare well for the cultivation of medicinal herbs under the forest canopy to create sustainable income for the people.
After the launching ceremony, Ms. Giang Pao My - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Lai Chau province and delegates attending the ceremony planted 200 pear trees on the central road of Pu Dao commune and put up the sign "Pear flower street".
