The 5th Session of the 15th National Assembly Discussed the proposed Law and Ordinance Development Program for 2024

Continuing the program of the 5th session of the 15th National Assembly, on the morning of May 23, the National Assembly held a plenary session in the hall to listen to a report on the work of practicing thrift and fighting waste in 2022; discussing the expected Law and Ordinance Building Program for 2024, and adjusting the Law and Ordinance Building Program for 2023.

During the discussion session, with a democratic and open spirit, 21 delegates spoke, and the Minister of Justice provided additional information to the National Assembly delegates.

Through discussion, the majority of opinions agreed with the Report on the proposed Law and Ordinance Development Program for 2024, and the adjustment of the Law and Ordinance Development Program for 2023. At the same time, it was said that since the beginning of the term, with the spirit of proactive legislation from early on and from afar, the legislative work of the National Assembly has achieved many positive results, with many innovations, creativity and efficiency.

The quality and progress of the law-making program are increasingly improved. Proposals for law and ordinance making are increasingly considered more carefully and closely, and the quality of documents is increasingly improved.

The process of examining and participating in examining law-making proposals by National Assembly agencies has been increasingly strengthened, especially social criticism activities and contributions from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations right from the time of making proposals and throughout the drafting process, which have significantly contributed to improving the quality of law-making work.

Therefore, since the beginning of the term, the National Assembly has passed a large number of laws, ordinances and resolutions with 15 laws, 21 legal resolutions and commented on 7 other draft laws. This result has significantly contributed to the gradual improvement and synchronization of institutions.

Delegates also contributed many specific opinions on adjusting the program, proposing many solutions to strengthen discipline, order, and individualize responsibilities, ensuring the best implementation of the Law and Ordinance Building Program for the entire term in general and the annual Law and Ordinance Building Program in particular.

In the afternoon working program, the National Assembly listened to the Report and the verification report on the assignment of the list and capital level for tasks and projects under the Socio-Economic Recovery and Development Program; assignment, adjustment and supplementation of the medium-term public investment plan of the central budget for the period 2021-2025 and allocation of the central budget investment plan in 2023 of the national target program (maximum 15 minutes); listened to the Report on explanation, acceptance and revision of the draft Law on Prices (amended) and discussed in the hall about some contents of this draft with different opinions.
