On the afternoon of August 23, the Department of Information and Communications of Kien Giang province coordinated with the People's Committee of Vinh Thuan district to hold a press conference to inform that the principal "arbitrarily" transferred equipment from Thi Tran Secondary School (abbreviated as the old location) to the old Vinh Thuan Town Primary and Secondary School (abbreviated as the new location, in Vinh Phuoc 2 neighborhood, Vinh Thuan town), causing a stir in public opinion.
Mr. Huynh Ngoc Nguyen - Vice Chairman of Vinh Thuan District People's Committee - affirmed that the fact that a principal "arbitrarily" transferred facilities from the old school to the new school was under the district's policy.

However, it is not right to arbitrarily transfer facilities without official instructions. “I affirm that up to this point, we have not directed the transfer of students but are only completing the facilities to prepare for the new school year. The story of the principal arbitrarily transferring schools is wrong.
However, we have not detected any profiteering in this story," Mr. Nguyen affirmed.
According to Mr. Nguyen, in this story, the District Department of Education and Training was slow in implementing the process of merging schools and transferring facilities, leading to the principal acting arbitrarily.
Up to now, the District People's Committee has not yet commented on the cost of transferring facilities with the amount of 2.8 billion VND as reported by the press.
The new school is located on Highway 63, with no noise and convenient traffic, creating favorable conditions for teachers to teach and students to study with peace of mind.
Currently, the school is investing in building a multi-purpose building. After the merger, the school has 39 classrooms, ensuring learning conditions.
“The district’s viewpoint is that any mistakes will be dealt with accordingly. There will be delays in the implementation process, but the facilities will be inventoried. If the principal causes losses, he will be disciplined,” Mr. Nguyen affirmed.
Previously, some newspapers reported that Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong - principal of Thi Tran Secondary School, Vinh Thuan district, had arbitrarily transferred some pages and teaching equipment from the old school to the new school, even though he had not received any official instructions from the Department of Education and the District People's Committee.
When the incident was discovered, the district education department leaders twice requested to temporarily stop the relocation until there was official instruction to carry it out, but Mr. Phong not only ignored it but also acted more urgently.
