Encourage more Fukuoka province businesses to invest and do business in Vietnam

Governor Hattori Seitaro said that there are 34 enterprises of Fukuoka province investing and doing business in Vietnam and this number will continue to increase in the coming time.

On the afternoon of January 23, at the Government headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang received Governor of Fukuoka Province (Japan) Hattori Seitaro, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

Expressing his pleasure at meeting Governor Hattori Seitaro again in Hanoi, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang recalled the good impressions during his visit to Japan and Fukuoka province in November 2023.

Emphasizing that the relationship between Vietnam and Japan in general and Fukuoka province in particular is developing increasingly well, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his belief that the two countries will continue to have practical cooperation activities to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world between the two countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the friendly and cooperative relationship between Hanoi and Fukuoka Prefecture over the past 10 years as well as Fukuoka Prefecture's goodwill in supporting Hanoi in handling issues related to health and the environment, thereby making the content of cooperation between the two localities richer and more comprehensive.

The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the Fukuoka prefectural government encourage more businesses from the province to invest and do business in Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular in areas where Fukuoka has strengths and Vietnam has demand, such as strategic infrastructure, digital transformation, green transformation, smart agriculture, wastewater treatment, high technology, etc.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister also asked Governor Hattori Seitaro to pay attention and create more favorable conditions for the community of more than 20,000 Vietnamese people living and studying in Fukuoka province.

At the reception, Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture (Japan) Hattori Seitaro said that this visit to Vietnam took place on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of establishing friendly and cooperative relations between Fukuoka Prefecture and Hanoi Capital.

Currently, there are 34 Fukuoka prefecture enterprises investing and doing business in Vietnam and this number will continue to increase in the coming time; more and more foreigners are coming to live and study in Fukuoka prefecture, of which the Vietnamese community is the largest.

The Governor hopes to continue promoting economic, cultural, educational and people-to-people cooperation with Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular; and hopes the Vietnamese Government will support the opening of a direct flight from Fukuoka to Vietnam.

Fukuoka Prefecture is willing to share experiences and support Hanoi Capital in handling environmental issues during the development process.

Previously, Governor Hattori Seitaro had talks with the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on enhancing cooperation between the Hanoi People's Committee and the Fukuoka prefectural government for the 2024-2028 period.
