Many localities and units effectively disburse public investment.

On March 27, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports held a press conference to provide information on socio-economic issues in the area.

At the press conference, Mr. Pham Trung Kien, Deputy Director of the Department of Finance, informed that Ho Chi Minh City set the target of disbursing public investment capital in the first quarter at least 7.5%, striving for 10%. By March 21, 3,425 billion VND, equivalent to 5.1%, had been disbursed. According to Mr. Kien, it will be until the end of March that we know whether the assigned results have been achieved or not, but compared to the same period last year, it is more positive. Some units with good disbursement are Hoc Mon district, District 4, District 8, Binh Tan district, and the Management Board of the High-Tech Agricultural Zone.

The reason for the low disbursement of public investment capital in the first quarter, Mr. Kien explained, is that procedures are often carried out at the beginning of the year. In addition, there is a shortage and scarcity of materials and some local projects have not yet handed over enough land in time...

Regarding the handling of cars that stop and park illegally, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Binh, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police, said that in the first quarter, the traffic police force detected and handled 12,290 violations, a decrease of 1,807 cases compared to the same period in 2024. Because cars stopping and parking illegally is one of the causes of traffic congestion, in the coming time, the traffic police will continue to strictly handle this behavior, while increasing surveillance through the camera system to impose fines.

Mr. Binh also said that people's traffic awareness has been increasingly improved after Decree 168/2024 took effect.
