Thu Duc City Police have prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Thuy Trang (37 years old, local) for assaulting a female train crossing guard, causing her to break her nose.
WATCH CLIP:
Today (January 3), Thu Duc City Police prosecuted Nguyen Thuy Trang for "intentionally causing injury".
Police informed that at 8:35 p.m. on December 30, Trang was driving a motorbike carrying Ngo Thanh Tien (37 years old, living in Binh Thanh district) on Kha Van Can street, from Uu Dam pagoda to Pham Van Dong street.
At the train barrier at km1717+600 Kha Van Can road, we encountered a train with locomotive number H4501 moving from Thu Duc city to Saigon station. Ms. Hoang Thi Binh (an employee in charge of blocking the train barrier to ensure safety on the railway corridor) had completely closed the barrier.
Trang and many others stopped outside the barrier as required. However, a couple (unknown origin) got stuck inside, so Ms. Binh said that if they had already crossed, they should stay here and when the train passed, the barrier would be opened for them to pass.
At this time, a young man wearing a Grab shirt (unknown identity) stood next to her, using his hand to lift the fence so that the couple could drive towards Uu Dam Pagoda. Ms. Binh asked the young man to stop, and an argument broke out.
When Trang said to Binh: "Let people pass, why are you so mean?", Binh replied: "What do you know, shut up." Hearing that, Trang angrily parked her bike, walked closer and attacked Binh repeatedly until people pulled her away.
At the time of the incident, Ms. Binh and the people around held Trang back and reported to the ward police for resolution. After that, Ms. Binh went to Thu Duc City Hospital for emergency treatment and then to Hiep Binh Chanh Ward Police to report and file a request for criminal proceedings against Trang.
It is known that Ms. Binh suffered a broken nose and the results of the injury assessment are now available. The police consider Trang's behavior, which caused public outrage and assaulted the train crossing guard while on duty, to be a disregard for the law; therefore, it is necessary to strictly handle her according to the law to serve as a general deterrent and prevention in society.
